Jujutsu Kaisen week after week is giving us incredible chapters, its story had fallen into a repetitive loop about there was no character capable of defeating Sukuna and this was ending with all possible options. Now a twist in the plot comes to refresh the story and surprise us completely, and it seems that nobody saw this possibility coming. Attention, this note will contain different spoilers about Jujutsu Kaisen and its current story, so read the note under your own discretion.
Unexpected kinship strikes Jujutsu Kaisen history
Everything seemed to be looking good when we learned that Yuji Itadori would finally receive power ups and have even more character development, but everything is left in total suspense with the revealing arrival of chapter 257. In order to understand why the tremendous impact with this specific chapter, let’s briefly go back to chapter 256 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, which in itself is very important.
There we could see Yuji and his friends doing their best to stop Sukuna, however, the result of such effort was not as expected. Luckily, Yuji managed to get back on his feet and return to the fight. The surprise comes with chapter 257 and its leaks so far (remember that this chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen will be released until April 21, 2024). From here on the note may contain much bigger spoilers, so discretion is advised.
This new chapter begins with a short flashback of Sukuna and Uraume talking about Yuji. Uraume asks Sukuna “who is Yuji and why does he have unexplainable power?”, “Is it just because of the residual cursed energy Sukuna left in him before they parted ways?”. It is there that Sukuna reveals what really happened inside the womb, giving way to the most impressive twist of the Jujutsu Kaisen chapter.
Thanks to the leaks that have been made, the manga material has begun to spread through social networks, giving rise to translations made by the most attentive users to this content. That is where a new variant is born, because the full chapter is not yet officially released, there were those who faithfully believed (due to a serious translation error by a leaker) that Yuji turned out to be the reincarnated twin of Sukuna. However, this version is not true.
So the corrected version points out that Itadori is not actually Sukuna’s brother, but his “nephew”. Apparently Yuji is NOT Sukuna’s twin, this is supported by the argument where they claim that after the demon ate his twin in the womb, the soul of the twin went through cycles. And Kenjaku procreated with the person who had Sukuna’s soul mate, which is Jin Itadori. That led to the birth of Yuji, so he is not Sukuna’s twin, but Jin Itadori.
In recent times, the version that Sukuna is Yuji’s uncle is gaining more and more momentum, setting aside the fact that at the time fans went crazy believing that they were twins. As an extra tidbit, in a conversation between Sukuna and Uraume, the King of Curses reveals that his twin brother has been reincarnated into different people over the 1000 years he’s been locked up. One of them was Jin Itadori, Yuji’s father, who reincarnated into Sukuna’s twin. In short, the young Jujutsu Kaisen sorcerer is fighting with his uncle and his power is considerably high.
