Japanese people are fed up with foreigners and their poor hygiene

Latinos smell bad and are very dirty, and so are western countries in general. This is commented by dozens of Japanese after the publication of certain videos in Japan where garbage and poor hygiene are found in the streets of Japan for tourists. Could it be that the inhabitants of the West are so unhygienic, the comments do not stop coming in this constant debate, which now took much more strength in social networks.

Several areas in Japan fill up with garbage and locals blame foreigners

In a recent publication highlighted in the social network Twitter/X, later epicenter of debate in different forums in the country of the rising sun, mainly in a larger one, criticism has been launched in the direction of the inhabitants of the West who come as tourists to the country and their hygienic behavior. This because of a certain video showing the streets of Japan where tourists spend their time, full of garbage, waste and in the words of some in the forum, “unhygienic behavior”. Could this be true?

Within the Japan forum there are many locals who offer a point of view focused on these attitudes: “The streets are often seen in tourist areas flooded with garbage”, “many tourists are not used to the habits here”, “there should be a fine of 100,000 yen for littering or unhygienic behavior”. They point out how many of the tourists are not in the same neat and tidy environment that the Japanese have maintained for years in their daily lives.

Contrary to the words expressed by these users, there is another approach of the Japanese themselves that predominates in the forum: “I have passed by there without tourists visiting and the place remains dirty”, “those streets are always full of garbage because of festivals, not because of tourists”, “you cannot blame the tourists, they have not cleaned those areas for a long time, because of festivals it gets dirty all the time”. Another side of the truth, they reveal facts about the local community and a point of defense for tourists in the country.

We know that Japan is the cradle of anime and manga, of all that industry that has become a worldwide phenomenon, being its gigantic growth in recent years, something you can see in this note of our page. Taking the above, we know from these series that the Japanese and Asian community mostly have different values from a young age, both ethical and habits and behaviors in public. These can be very different, strict, keeping spaces such as streets and green areas very clean, so much debate on these issues.

On the other hand, Westerners, we from South America, have a little more freedom, but this does not mean that this is due to bad behavior, tourists know where they are coming, so many of them know the basic rules of the countries they visit. There will always be a culture clash between tourists and natives, especially when it comes to people living in another continent, although in recent years this seems to be a little more common.

There will never cease to be this type of pointing out to tourists, perhaps because of the critical look of the natives or because of some of these foreigners who on their arrival do not leave a good impression of their own hygienic behavior. It is not something new, this type of remarks, as we mentioned, will happen constantly, so we will see again posts of this type in networks. How to deal with it, throw the garbage in the trash can and when they go to another country offer a good image so that stereotypes of foreign behavior are not created.
