The country of the rising sun, better known as Japan, has managed to captivate us with its culture, its music and of course, its beautiful animation better known as anime. For fans of the latter, year after year we wait patiently for the premieres of each season, new works as well as second, third or fourth seasons also arrive to compete for the best work of the season or even of the year.
Has Japan run out of ideas?
What is going on in Japan? It seems that netizens are somewhat discouraged because once this season ends no anime has been good enough to be positioned as the best of the season, this is not to say that there are no worthwhile works. For example, among the most outstanding works is Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, or vaguely known as the apothecary anime.
This work tells the story of a young maid named Maomao, her life changes completely when she is sold to the imperial court, her curious thirst and her skills as an apothecary have earned Maomao a very important place in the minds of fans, not only in Japan, because on this side of Latin America she is a very beloved character.
Another work worth mentioning is the well known Solo Leveling, with its long awaited premiere it drove anime fans crazy. Its story, character development, animation and outstanding soundtrack were liked by many fans who already knew the manhwa or simply came to the anime out of mere curiosity. Unfortunately, not every work is exempt from controversy and this is how we talk about its disappointing chapter 8, better known as “episode 7.5”, which was lambasted with dislikes on the Crunchyroll platform.
Pon no Michi also stands out from the crowd, but not enough, Japanese fans do not keep their disappointment to themselves, some works have weak beginnings that gain strength as the chapters go by, other anime have it the other way around, it is common to find comments like this “it was so promising in the first episode that I was disappointed after the second episode”.
“This season’s hegemony is dungeon food. 🙄” was another comment left and it seems that quite a few Japanese people agree, the anime Delicious in Dungeon, is a work that has been released on Netflix, apparently the reception of this work has been quite good. The anime has brought out several smiles with its characters and the funny situations it shows us, in addition to the food jokes that are present throughout the chapters.
We have to wait for the end of the season to be able to see which works fans have liked the most, “Even if you don’t have hegemony, the average is decent.” Were the words left by another user, this season is not that it has been very bad or the worst we have had, but it may be true that we expected more surprises coming from the anime that premiered.
Even with all this, we were able to enjoy romantic stories like Kusuriya no Hitorigoto or Sign of Affection, the latter has melted the hearts of thousands of people around the globe, thanks to its story, its characters and those wonderful colors that warm your heart. On the other hand, we also enjoyed long awaited works like the return of Ao no Exorcist that we had to mention because it gives in pure nostalgia and with some stumbles, but we cannot deny that Solo Leveling did a wonderful job entertaining us, what do you think? What was your favorite work from Japan?
