The TV anime “Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-Kun” (Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki) has reported in its official media that its long-awaited second season, titled Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun 2nd Stage, will begin broadcasting in Japan from January 3, 2024. This news was accompanied with a new promotional video, which presents a preview of the opening and closing theme for this new season of the series.
Jaku-chara Tomozaki-kun 2nd Stage will be released on January 3, 2024.
The opening theme for the second season of the anime Jaku-chara Tomozaki-kun will be performed by DIALOGUE+ and will be titled Easy? Hard? Shikashite Susume! (Easy? Hard? But Let’s Move On!), while the closing theme will also be performed by DIALOGUE+ and will be titled Dareka Janai Kara (Because It’s Not Someone).
It is important to note that Crunchyroll will legally simulcast the second season of the anime Jaku-chara Tomozaki-kun and will be available on its platform under the title “Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki 2nd Stage“.
The production team involved in this new installment of Jaku-chara Tomozaki-kun will be as follows: Shinsuke Yanagi will once again lead the direction of the anime. The renowned animation studio Project No.9, known for its excellence, will once again take on the production of the anime. Experienced Fumihiko Shimo will play a supervising role for the anime’s scripts. The talented Akane Yano will return to take charge of character design.

Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun, also known as Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki, is a Drama and Romance genre light novel written by Yuuki Yaku and illustrated by Fly. It began to be published in the Gagaga Bunko imprint of Shogakukan Publishing House since May 2016. The light novel currently has 10 volumes published.
The work has a manga adaptation by Eight Chida. The manga by Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun began serializing in Square Enix publisher Gekkan Gangan Joker magazine since December 2017, reaching its end in February 2021.
On January 8, 2021, the light novel Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun released its anime adaptation which was composed of a total of 12 episodes and 2 OVAs. The animation studio Project No.9 was in charge of the production of the series under the direction of Shinsuke Yanagi. Crunchyroll platform was in charge of broadcasting the anime legally in America under the title “Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki.
“Jaku-chara Tomozaki-kun” presents the story of Fumiya Tomozaki, a prodigious player in the famous online game “Attack Families” or “Tackfam”. Although he holds the title of Japan’s best player in this virtual world, his prowess in the game contrasts drastically with his social skills and lack of kindness in everyday life. Unable to make friends and feeling defeated by the social complexities and seemingly unfair rules of life, Fumiya decides to consider his existence as a game in which he is a lower-level character.
However, fate takes a turn when he discovers the true identity of another prominent player in Tackfam: Aoi Hinami, a popular, intelligent and sociable classmate who is the complete opposite of Fumiya. Surprised by Fumiya’s social ineptitude outside the game, Aoi decides to take him under her wing. Thus begins a story that explores the complexities of social interactions and human relationships, as Fumiya embarks on the challenging journey of advancing levels in the “game” of life, with Aoi’s guidance and assistance.
