Incredible Ballistic mode comes to Fortnite to be the perfect competition to Warzone

Epic Games has decided to introduce a much-requested mode to Fortnite. The FPS or First Person Shooter, which it titled as “Ballistic” mode, arrived last December 11 as an update to all platforms as the real direct competition to the impressive Call of Duty: Warzone. And although it still has little things to work out this mode also called “Competitive” is causing a furor and attracting many new players from other Fortnite modes.

Fortnite’s Ballisitic mode stole the spotlight in the game

This new mode includes since its introduction a ranked and unranked mode to be able to practice freely against other teams, Ballistic is a competitive model that Epic Games‘ Free To Play included with a 5v5 model where the objective is to obtain a higher score as the game progresses. Just like other titles, this mode allows you to buy weapons as you advance in the game and this resource to buy is earned as you get more and more kills.

This recently introduced competitive mode includes beautiful scenarios, carefully made with Unreal Engine technology, another aspect to highlight is that you can use the characters that were purchased to date in the game, proof of this is the appearance of the skin of one of the heroes of the last generation: John Wick in the teaser of introduction to this new first person shooter mode, in addition to symbolizing a new challenge for orthodox Fortnite players.

This new “challenge” is to take a leap from Third Person Shooter or Third Person Shooter (over the shoulder) with completely different tactics to be during an entire game in First Person Shooter mode, modes to which it is difficult to adapt and for which there are different types of games like Player Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG), Valorant, Overwatch, Fortnite and even the same Call of Duty: Warzone who is the leader in the Free To Play first person.

It is worth noting that Ballistic arrives at two strategic moments:

The emergence of a worthy competitor: Marvel Rivals.

The steady rise of Call of Duty: Warzone

Warzone has not had a worthy competitor, smashing CONCORD, who had millions of dollars of funding from Sony and forcing Ubisoft’s XDEFIANT to shut down its servers in June 2025. However, Epic Games’ video game launched in 2017 is a real threat to Activision, as both companies are giants in the gaming industry and introducing a new mode to Fortnite after 7 years of having created it, is not at all far-fetched and generates a lot of interest in all its new and old users.
