Honkai Star Rail is one of the many gacha games produced by the Chinese developer Hoyoverse that enjoy a solid success thanks to its fun gameplay cycle, variety of stories, themes and its wide catalog of characters with an unparalleled charisma that have enamored more than one. But now it will seek to increase these aspects even more, as it has officially confirmed that during the third quarter of the year 2025 the game will be making a collaboration with Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works that promises to add a lot of thematic content of the renowned franchise.

The announcement was made through the official Twitter/X account (@honkaisr) of the videogame where the news was shared along with an allusive promotional image. In this we are invited to be attentive to future publications that expand the information about the event that is scheduled for the third quarter of 2025. In addition, the #HSRxFate_UBW was created, a hashtag where fans can leave their opinions and fanarts related to the future collaboration, among which we find lists of possible classes and elements that could be associated with each of the characters of Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works.
Not much has been confirmed beyond the release date for the third quarter of 2025 as mentioned, so the most interesting details, such as which characters from the world of Fate will come to Honkai Star Rail are still unknown, although the names from the fans were not long in coming. And as usual, two of the most awaited are “waifus”, in this case the most mentioned in the comments of the different publications alluding to the event are Artoria Pendragon and Rin Tohsaka, being the most known and the most likely to make an appearance in the Hoyoverse game.
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works is a franchise that began as a visual novel developed by Type-Moon, but soon got anime adaptations. Being the first one under the production of Deen studio, which was in charge of adapting one of the routes of the visual novel, and a movie covering part of the second route was animated under the name of Unlimited Blade Works. Subsequently, the animated adaptation would pass into the hands of the Ufotable studio, recognized animation house for the current time to be in charge of bringing the anime adaptation of the famous Demon Slayer manga.
Ufotable was in charge of leading the project animating adapting Unlimited Blade Works, which is a 26-episode anime series, three movies that develop the Heaven’s Feel route and the prequel Fate Zero. Since then, the Fate franchise has been associated with Ufotable, since its history of good adaptations made the popularity of the work rise exponentially and several studios were interested in adapting the Fate franchise. The visual novel has inspired manga, light novels and video games that adapt what has already been seen in the original material or expand the franchise’s universe, as in the case of Fate Apocrypha and Fate Grand Order.
Honkai Star Rail, on the other hand, is a sci-fi RPG by tunos that has gained a huge following since its release, which thanks to its fun gameplay and expanding world, transports us to a journey full of backstories with a diverse amount of stories linked to the Trazacaminos and the crew of the Astral Express.
And with the announcement of the collaboration, both loyal fans of the game and the general public have returned to the game to be prepared for the collaboration, which is just over a year away. Ultimately, this has got more than one speculating what the developer is up to, as the Honkai Star Rail franchise is expected to share more about the unexpected announcement soon.
