There is no doubt that “One Punch Man” is one of the most globally recognized franchises in the manga/anime industry. Illustrator Yusuke Murata’s amazing work on the manga adaptation of the ONE webcomic, along with his anime series produced by animation studio Madhouse, has contributed significantly to elevating the franchise to a high level of popularity and acceptance among the public.
For several years, the otaku community has expressed its admiration for the work of illustrator Yusuke Murata in the One Punch Man manga. Murata managed to masterfully capture in his illustrations the original vision of ONE in his webcomic, standing out especially in the design of the characters, although mostly in the female characters of the story, which people have appreciated for his “illustrations worthy of the gods”.
However, what is the difference between the illustrations of the author of One Punch Man, ONE, and the illustrator Yusuke Murata? Well, here are some comparisons that have been going viral in different social networks on the internet.
One Punch Man goes viral for a comparison
On the left side, the illustrations presented by the author of One Punch Man, ONE, in his webcomic are displayed. These illustrations allow us to observe the evolution of ONE’s drawing, starting with a more “simplistic” style and progressively adding certain details. Although they do not reach the category of artistic marvel, these details have an attractiveness that manages to convince more and more the public.
On the other hand, on the right side is the One Punch Man manga, where it is evident how illustrator Yusuke Murata’s drawing style surpasses ONE’s art. Murata manages to incorporate a cleaner, more detailed style that appeals to casual audiences. Despite this evident improvement, the essence of certain moments is maintained, where a more simplistic design is appreciated, in line with ONE’s intention to portray these moments with that curious style.
This curious comparison was presented by Twitter user “ZORO D SENPAI 条” (@ROCKSDZORO) and has quickly managed to attract the attention of the public, reaching more than 8.3 million views and more than 137 thousand likes, becoming a viral phenomenon in that social network.

One Punch Man takes place in the fictional Z City of Japan, in a world that is plagued by strange monsters that mysteriously emerge and cause disasters of catastrophic proportions. Here, our story centered on Saitama, a powerful superhero capable of easily defeating monsters and villains with a single punch, is set. However, this level of strength becomes a source of boredom for him, as he longs to find opponents who can match his power.
In the course of his adventures, Saitama crosses paths with friends, enemies and his own disciple, the cyborg Genos. Together, they join the Heroes Association to gain recognition for their efforts to fight evil. Although he manages to defeat many enemies that even the top heroes cannot, Saitama struggles to gain the recognition his actions deserve.
Despite his ordinary physical appearance, he faces scrutiny and discrimination from the majority, with some even accusing him of being a false hero. However, there is a small group of individuals who can see beyond the surface, recognizing both his immense talent and his humility.
