According to the description on the JA Tsugaru Hirosaki website, the image seeks to transport shoppers to the Hirosaki apple park, a popular apple-growing area. In this way, those who have visited the site or reside in the region can identify with the illustration.
This initiative is part of the agricultural cooperative’s efforts to promote apple consumption, especially among the younger generation. In November 2024, when pre-orders opened, the organization expressed its desire to appeal to a wider audience through the image of Hatsune Miku, a widely recognized figure within pop culture and the digital world.
