Halo series to hit Netflix and fans get excited

After a mixed reception, very negative by the most orthodox to the Lore of the “Halo” universe and positive by those who had been wishing for decades to see the “Master Chief” adapted to a live-action series, the series was canceled by the same platform that began its production: Paramount +, last July 2024. After only 2 seasons and 17 episodes, this “cancellation” seemed to be definitive, but “the cast and rights remained available” to be retaken for future seasons by another production company. The series took only 7 months to confirm its arrival on Netflix and both staff and fans see a small glimmer of hope for its resumption.

Halo comes to Netflix and awakens a light of hope for fans

Even though the Halo Live-Action passed without any glory for Paramount + executives, and that was the main reason for its cancellation, not everything was bad in the story of the struggle set in the 26th century between humanity and the Covenant. The real problem and what continues to be debated in forums, is the not so correct adaptation that with good intentions they wanted to give to each character and context, including some that subtracted instead of adding and others not belonging to the lore that stole a huge protagonism to the main ones.

Despite these more than negative points, the series addressed issues that did not exist in some video games, but were present in the lore, such as intergalactic wars against the Covenant, we were able to meet Spartans like Soren, Riz, the beloved Kai-125 and her human sides. Something much criticized to date, continues to be the climax of the second season, which deals with the fall of the Reach, the main theme of the eponymous game and one of the most praised by the public, because, at no time, the endearing Carter, Kat, Jun, Emile, Jorge and the symbolic Noble Six appear.

Halo Netflix

Although this could be a new beginning for the Halo series, on an international platform and with greater impact on its target audience, which is Mexico, Latin America and the United States, its past leaves an indelible stain on what has already been shown in Paramount +’s original work. The cast is truly talented, having Pablo Schreiber as the Master Chief, Natascha McElhone as Cortana|Dr. Halsey, Natasha Culzac as Riz and the one who showed the most talent: Kate Kennedy as Kai – 125. The mismanagement of screen time and ineffective adaptation buried a series that could have been a resounding success.

The plot of who was the childhood hero of many, John 117, against the Covenant, the Flood, the Forerunners, Atriox, Escharum and his henchmen, but especially in his ambivalence to protect Cortana from herself in a chaotic galaxy has for many seasons and spin-offs. There was no better bidder than Netflix to acquire this Live-Action, as it will now be available to more people, who will give it a chance and why not a second chance after its broadcast next week, exactly on March 1, 2025.

Thanks to this series coming to one of the most famous video platforms, fans of the entire franchise do not lose hope for its resumption, in fact, a third season does not sound far-fetched at all due to the huge success that modern adaptations such as The Witcher, Arkane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners have had. Adaptation with a huge production and, considering that the franchise at least in video games has more greatness than the 3 previously mentioned, Netflix executives will think 2 times the decision to say “no” to a third season of “Halo Series.”
