The anime’s official Twitter/X account @animehaikyu_com, recently made a post announcing that on October 30, 2024, the Blu-ray/DVD of “The Battle of the Dumpster”, a Haikyuu movie that was released on February 16 in Japan and started to be screened in theaters around the world in May, will be released. This version of the movie will have English subtitles, which is excellent news for those international fans who want to purchase it.
This news was not only limited to the excitement of knowing that we could finally have this movie in our homes and relive the thrill of this confrontation between Karasuno High School and Nekoma High School. The Haikyuu!!! franchise increased the hype by informing that different stores where the DVD/Blu-ray will be on sale will also launch new products related to the movie. Each store will have various products that can be purchased when pre-ordering the Blu-ray/DVD.
The free gift that will be given with the purchase of any copy of this product, regardless of the establishment, will be one of the famous “shikishis” with an illustration of Tetsurou Kuroo and Kenma Kozume, two of the main characters of this Haikyuu film. Shikishis are cardboard squares with golden edges that are widely used in Japan to make illustrations that can be given as gifts or sold. On the other hand, the ToHo animation store will have items focused on the two aforementioned characters: a set of acrylics, a B3 poster, key chains and tin buttons.
At the I.G store, the gift will be a set of 3 “shikishis” with different illustrations: one of Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, one of Tetsurou Kuroo and Kei Tsukishima and finally, one of Kenma Kozume. On Amazon, the products will be a framed illustration of Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, as well as a set of various cards with various scenes from the movie. The Animate store will have a slightly larger variety of items, mainly focused on Tetsurou Kuroo and Kei Tsukishima.
