This April 6 marks the 10th anniversary of the broadcasting of the first episode of the famous and beloved spokon Haikyuu!!!, which has won the hearts of a great number of people, as reflected in the success of its recently released movie in Japanese theaters. To celebrate the fact that this story has been with millions of people for ten years, the franchise announced several projects that would be released in honor of it and as a way of thanking the fans.
Haikyuu!! celebrates anniversary by indulging fans with new projects
Through the official account of Haikyuu!!! on Twitter/X, it was informed about this celebration that will be held on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the franchise, which would be called “Connect”. They also shared the website of this anniversary project where all the information about it would be available. This will consist of three different events and in each one there will be different activities. The first of these is called “Annual Project”, within this we have two dynamics, the first is an “exhibition of congratulatory messages”, which as its name indicates, it is a section on the site where the cast of the anime wrote a thank you for the support of the public.
The first message we have, of course, is from the creator, who accompanied it with a special illustration of our protagonist, Shoyo Hinata. The comment reads “Celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Haikyuu_ anime !!!!. I think there are many people who have discovered the appeal of volleyball thanks to the anime. Thank you… I look forward to the continuation of the ongoing anime Haikyuu!!!”. Subsequently, we have comments from the anime’s seiyuus such as Ayumu Murase, who brings Hinata to life and Kaito Ishikawa, who brings Tobio Kageyama to life.
The second section in Annual Project, is called “Haikyuu!!! Cheerleading team message room”, where fans can write a message of congratulations through Twitter/X accompanied by one of the two images made specifically for the anniversary, any fan can be part of this dynamic, just write your message through this platform, using the hashtag hq_繋ぐproject. In these images, we have the protagonists of the film “The Battle of the Dumpster” who are Shoyo Hinata, Kenma Kozume, Tobio Kageyama and Tetsurou Kuroo.
Moving on to the”Special Project” section, we will have 3 dynamics in this one. The first one are new versions of the banners and logos of some of the schools that have had an appearance in the anime and manga of Haikyuu!!!, each one of them was supervised by Haruichi Furudate, so we can be sure that they are official versions. These new designs had not been shown before in Haikyuu!!! and we were given to understand that there will be more products regarding this, so we are asked to be attentive to news about it.
The second event in this section will be an exhibition for which a representative image was also released, this exhibition will be held in three cities in Japan, in Tokyo: the place will be the TFT Hall from July 13 to August 4, in Sendai: it will be at the Kamei Arena Sendai from August 11 to 19 and finally in Fukuoka: it will be held at the Hakata International Exhibition and Conference Center from September 14 to October 9. There are not many more details about it, but we are sure that as always when this kind of activities are presented, it will be magnificent.
From the Special Projects section, the last event will be the release of commemorative merchandise and although there is not much information about the merchandise that will be offered for sale, in the promotional image we can see t-shirts, sweatshirts and banners of the teams that we love so much from Haikyuu! We will have to be aware of more news in case we want to purchase any of these items. To conclude with this good news for Haikyuu!! fans, we have this enigmatic section called “Special Event”, of which no further details were shared, only that it will take place in 2025.
It seems that in the Haikyuu!! community there is always something new, something to celebrate, since, we just had a wave of news and good things about the movie and only two months after this fact, we are already waiting for many more things to continue celebrating how much Haikyuu!! has marked the hearts of so many fans. And one of the nicest things about all this is that the mangaka is always very involved, giving us more material to enjoy and supervising all the designs that will be used in these projects.
