A few days ago a Japanese user of the social network Twitter/X posted a hilarious, but impressive video in which a Gundam robot is visualized, specifically a modified Gunpla (short for Gundam Plastic Model) in which he adds a couple of “attributes” and imitates the characteristic movement of the beautiful girls of Goddess of Victory: Nikke that they make when shooting with their guns.
The video of the modified Gundam in the best Nikkei style.
The industrious and talented user of X is @kokebanana, who describes himself as a video game player and a great fan of collectible figures and scale models. He has made many publications sharing with his thousands of followers the products he collects and even modifies to obtain incredible and unique results that can be surprising because of the creativity and curiosity of his creations.
In the publication of his modified Gunpla, he shows us a blue and gray Gundam robot using a couple of pieces that manage to imitate the movement of the Nikke girls in action to perfection by means of a mechanism that makes the hips of this model vibrate. The scene consists of the robot shooting behind a black wall on a base of the same material that simulates a metal platform. On the wall is another module of this curious robot and, to the right, an acrylic with the metallic card of one of Nikke’s characters, Anis, in her suggestive orange outfit with black stockings and miniskirt.
Further behind the Gundam model, other collectible figures of futuristic robots or ships characteristic of the series are displayed, which are complemented by the scenography built from few elements, but which highlights very well the concept and the homage to the famous Shift-Up mobile game. In addition, the user shares detailed images of how the overall process has been and how he managed to create this unprecedented comic scene in tribute to this iconic video game and this other iconic anime series.
For those who don’t know Gundam is a science fiction animated series franchise created by visionary Yoshiyuki Tomino for Sunrise Studios that premiered on April 7, 1979. Since then it has captivated thousands of fans of the mecha genre worldwide and has inspired thousands who produced art, ingenious crossovers, images, drawings and a lot of products or merchandise.
And for its part, Shift Up’s flagship video game, Goddes of Victory: Nikke, is a free-to-play action, third-person shooter and role-playing game with a gacha mechanic or system officially released for mobile devices such as Android and iOS in 2022 and later came to PC. In the distant future, humanity faces annihilation by the Raptures, alien machines that have devastated the Earth’s surface. The surviving humans have taken refuge in The Ark, a subway city where advanced technology has enabled the creation of the NIKKEs, artificial warriors designed to fight this threat.
The player assumes the role of a Commander in charge of leading a squad of these girls. Each has unique abilities and personalities, allowing for a wide variety of strategies and tactics on the battlefield. As the Commander and his squad take on the Raptures, they must also unravel the mysteries behind the invasion and uncover the truth about the NIKKEs and their origin in this stricken world.
