Grand Theft Auto VI is the most anticipated video game of the moment. After more than 10 years have passed since the release of GTA V, fans were very excited when Rockstar Games announced that the first trailer for the sequel would be released this December 5. As the countdown was slowing down and everyone was holding their breath, something unexpected happened: the first GTA VI trailer was leaked on Twitter! Rockstar was quick to take matters into their own hands, so they said “Our trailer leaked, so watch the real version” and posted the video themselves, several hours ahead of schedule.
We have our first look at Grand Theft Auto VI!
With the song “Love Is A Long Road” by artist Tom Petty in the background, this wonderful trailer is our first glimpse into the breathtaking world of Grand Theft Auto VI. In this installment, we will follow the story of the couple Lucia and Jason. Similar to GTA V, both characters will be playable and what caught our attention is that Lucia is a Latina woman and the first female protagonist in the franchise since the first installment in 1997. We still don’t know much about the story of these two characters, but it seems that unfavorable circumstances will lead them down a path of crime and corruption.
Grand Theft Auto VI will take place in Vice City, returning to the colorful city we knew in the title that bore its name. This trailer shows us how this place has changed after so long: it’s full of parties, beaches, alligators in unexpected places, very strange people and, of course, crime everywhere. Vice City is the equivalent of Miami in the world of GTA and it is clear that GTA VI will be quite faithful to the real city. This will be a crazy and bizarre adventure in the best sense of the word, as you would expect from this legendary franchise.
A very interesting factor of Grand Theft Auto VI is that it seems Rockstar will take advantage of this modern location to make use of social networks, influencers and the internet in general within the game. From what we could see in the trailer, these elements will play an important role in the world of GTA VI, so they will surely be an important part of the classic satire of the franchise. Another impressive aspect is how detailed the graphics are. Rockstar always excels in this area and GTA VI will be no exception. There are moments when the images in the trailer look like they were taken from the real world.
The end of the trailer confirms what we’ve been waiting for the most: Grand Theft Auto VI will arrive in 2025. While many are disappointed that it’s not coming out next year, it makes sense that such a big game that has been in development for so many years would require a few more months before being released. Rockstar Games later confirmed that it will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox X/S Series. At the moment, they did not say if it will also be released for PC.
What did you think of the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, and are you excited for this game?
