It is worth noting that this new anime will have Negi Haruba (author of the original manga) as the writer of the original story and will be supervising all the details of the anime that will narrate the honeymoon of the quintuplets and Fuutarou Uesugi. In addition, it was made official that this project will be titled “Go-Toubun no Hanayome” (The Quintessential Quintuplets) and a visual image featuring the characters Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba and Itsuki Nakano was presented.
Go-Toubun no Hanayome quintuplets to return in new original anime
But that’s not all, as at the “Go-Toubun no Hanayome 5th Anniversary Event in Yokohama Arena” it was also reported that the Go-Toubun no Hanayome manga will have a light novel, which will have Negi Haruba as the concept writer of the original story and Hajime Asano as the writer of the novel. It should be mentioned that this work follows a part of the quintuplets’ daily life that was not covered in the original manga, so it will offer the viewer a new perspective of the Nakano sisters’ day-to-day life.
Additionally, the official media of the anime adaptation of the manga “Go-Toubun no Hanayome” have presented a promotional video of the commercials that were released in this commemorative event for the 5th anniversary of the series.
“Go-Toubun no Hanayome“, also known as “The Quintessential Quintuplets” in the West, is a romantic comedy manga created by Negi Haruba. The manga began serialization in Kodansha’s Shuukan Shonen Magazine in August 2017, reaching its end in February 2020. Kodansha Publishing has released a total of 14 compilation volumes, including a special volume numbered 14.5.
The anime adaptation of the manga “Go-Toubun no Hanayome” premiered in Japan on January 10, 2019. This adaptation consisted of 2 seasons, totaling 24 episodes and included a movie titled “Eiga Go-Toubun no Hanayome” and a special episode produced by SHAFT animation studio.
It is important to mention that the first season was produced by the animation studio Tezuka Productions, while the second season experienced a change of studio, being produced by “Bibury Animation Studios“. The series was aired legally and simultaneously in America through the Crunchyroll platform, and has an English dubbing.
“Go-Toubun no Hanayome” chronicles the life of Fuutarou Uesugi, a high school student whose existence is marked by economic hardship and a loneliness brought on by his aloof personality. His daily routine takes an unexpected turn when a conflict with a new student, Itsuki Nakano, over the “right” to a seat in the school canteen, triggers a wave of mutual dislike.
Things get even more complicated when Fuutarou is presented with an opportunity to pay off family debts through a job as a private tutor that offers a salary five times higher than average. However, he discovers that his student is none other than Itsuki, the same girl with whom he had previously quarreled.
But the surprise doesn’t end there. Itsuki turns out to be one of the Nakano quintuplets so now, in addition to Itsuki, Fuutarou must also tutor her sisters: Miku, Yotsuba, Nino and Ichika. Despite the fact that these girls face the real risk of failing their studies, they show no interest in having a tutor.
Facing these challenges with determination, Fuutarou is determined to overcome the quintuplets’ resistance to their studies, and successfully lead them to graduation, not only for the financial well-being of his family, but also for the personal satisfaction of fulfilling his mission as a tutor.
