As the enormous popularity of Genshin Impact continues to grow worldwide, it is common to see more and more unique marketing campaigns in the least expected places. Although Brazil may not be the first country that comes to mind when you think of extravagant commercials, there is a large community of otaku & gamers there who appreciate good advertising inspired by Japanese productions. Nissin Brazil knew how to take advantage of that, as they made the instant ramen brand Cup Noodles collaborate with the successful HoYoverse game in this fun marketing campaign.
Cup Noodles and Genshin Impact meet in Brazil
In this cool new Cup Noodles commercial, we can see four excellent cosplayers of the Genshin Impact characters: Bennett, Yae Miko, Layla and Hu Tao. When Hu Tao cooks them a bowl of ramen that doesn’t turn out very well (In reference to the passive ability, “The More, the Better” that she has in the game) a huge living Cup Noodles container appears to offer them the titular product. Then a person in a pink fox costume appears and kicks the container, for reasons unknown to us. The commercial concludes with the cosplayers enjoying the ramen and an adorable animated segment of their characters flying into the skies with the Cup Noodles cup.
This collaborative advertising is completely surreal and absurd, as it is inspired by the classic extravagant marketing campaigns that are usually done in Asian countries such as Japan, Korea and China, the country where this video game originates from. The cosplays of Bennett, Yae Miko, Layla and Hu Tao are of the highest quality and the actors that use them add a lot of cool to the whole production. You can tell that this commercial was made with a lot of love and by people who play Genshin Impact, as it contains funny references to the popular title.
In addition to all this, people in Brazil will now be able to buy Cup Noodles cups that come with images of Bennett, Yae Miko or Layla. Those attending the Brasil Game Show in Sao Pablo from October 11-15 will be able to go to the Nissin Brazil booth to try this new instant ramen based on their favorite video game. For now there is no confirmation that this collaboration with Genshin Impact will be available in other countries.
This Cup Noodles and Genshin Impact commercial is really funny, and is a perfect example of the influence that otaku & gamers who are fans of Asian culture have in Brazil. Of course, the reference to the Hu Tao character is no coincidence, as you can get it inside Genshin Impact right now. Its replay banner is available for a limited time, until October 17.
