The influence of the HoYoverse Genshin Impact videogame is indisputable, since fans were not only amazed by its story, but without a doubt the ones that keep the title on such a high shelf are the different characters present in its roster, with “waifus” and “husbandos” of all kinds. But apparently some of these fans take their love to levels beyond a simple cosplay or an illustration shared on the networks, and in the Philippines a couple decided to show their affection for Furina, one of the game’s characters, by officially naming their newborn baby after her.
“Furina Focalors” is the name of this Filipino baby in honor of Genshin Impact.
In the last few hours, a post that is no longer available has been resurfacing that was made some time ago in a subreddit of one of the most popular gacha-style video games that exist today, Genshin Impact, and that has as protagonist both a baby and Furina, one of the characters of the game. And it is that a couple, resident of the Philippines, decided to name their baby in honor of the girl: Furina Focalors, a mixture of her name in the real world of the game and that of her version of Arconte, being that the surprise to see this flooded the comments.
As you can see in the shared publication, and although it no longer exists, since it was deleted by the author himself, in this one you can see the image of an official document, with different information about the baby itself and where the name Furina Focalors stands out. Upon seeing this, Genshin Impact fans were shocked, in many cases in a negative way, because, although they themselves are fans of the game, they believe that this crossed a limit beyond the love they may have for Genshin Impact.
But there is also an extra spice that comes hand in hand with this name, and it is that it has a very close relationship with the world of religion, in this case with a negative denomination, since Focalors refers to a demon of mythology. This is given because, although many do not know it, the names of the Archons within the game, such as: Buer (Nahida), Beelzebul (Raiden Ei) or the same Focalors (Furina), among others, refer to different demonic entities belonging to mythology, so the baby’s name would have a strong relationship more than with the game, with the religious world.
Genshin Impact, for those who do not know it, is a free to play gacha-style title created by the company Hoyoverse which perfectly combines a story that expands with each new update, as well as a very entertaining real-time combat system. In Genshin Impact, players play the role of the “Traveler”, a being without memories who wakes up in the continent of Teyvat with a mission that will take him to travel through the different regions of this universe, to find his lost relative, in a world where the elements (Cryo, Electro, etc.) are very important.
