Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu, also known as Skeleton Knight in Another World in the West, is an isekai action-adventure light novel written by Enki Hakari and illustrated by Keg. The work began publication at Overlap Bunko imprint of Overlap Publishing House in June 2015.
Akira Sawano’s manga adaptation of the book began publication in Overlap’s Comic Gardo magazine in February 2017. Previously, it was announced that the literary franchise reached 1.7 million copies in circulation.
On 7 April 2022, the light novel Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu premiered its respective anime adaptation, which consisted of a total of 12 episodes. The anime studios Studio Kai and Hornets were in charge of its production and the series was legally broadcast in America through the Crunchyroll platform.
The anime Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu has the following description: After falling asleep while playing an online game, a man wakes up to find himself transported into the world of that game as his character, Arc. It doesn’t take him long to adapt to his new environment, but he soon realises that he is wearing the skeletal avatar he chose when creating his character, forcing him to hide his face to avoid unwanted stares.
Arc goes to Luvierte, a nearby castle, hoping to become an adventurer and undertake quests to earn money. With his powerful abilities, Arc embarks on a fantastic journey, exploring various territories, plundering monsters and helping people out of difficult situations. However, his seemingly innocuous actions soon involve him in a large-scale conflict that will forever alter the fate of the kingdom.
