Genshin Impact is just a few days away from releasing its long-awaited version 5.3 and to liven up the wait, the HoYoverse game community continues to create content of all kinds, in many cases appealing to the curious and even unexpected side of these works, such as the one shared a few hours ago. And it is that from Twitter/X comes an image which merges the same Genshin Impact with one of the most popular anime that exist today and that has left more than one amazed, Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End), and is that the beloved elf came to “own” the game with this illustration.
Frieren becomes the face of Genshin Impact in this amazing illustration
Through Twitter/X comes this image that shows us a curious fusion between two very different worlds, but at the same time similar, we refer in one case to Genshin Impact, the popular gacha-style video game of the Chinese company HoYoverse and Sousou no Frieren, one of the most important anime of recent years. The creator of this image decided to use the face of the elf protagonist of the anime to be the representative of the video game, by re-imagining the official logo of the game, but in this case with the face of the same Frieren.
As you can see in the image, the official logo of Genshin Impact, which actually has the face of Paimon, our in-game guide, who is winking and sticking out his tongue in a pose that has become iconic for the community, is taken as inspiration, but now it is replaced by Frieren herself. In addition, another very striking detail to highlight is how at the bottom, where the name of HoYoverse, the developer of the game, should be, you can see the phrase “HimmelVerse”, in a little joke playing with the hero of the world of Frieren and one of the best friends of the elf.
Upon seeing this image, several fans did not miss the opportunity to make some kind of comment, being the most repeated the one that alludes to “HimmelVerse”, that word game that perfectly combines both franchises. In addition, thanks to this “fusion” several were those who asked for some kind of official collaboration between Genshin Impact and Sousou no Frieren, and the appearance of the elf in the world of Teyvat would be a more than positive inclusion.
Genshin Impact, for those who don’t know it, is a free to play gacha-style title created by the company Hoyoverse, which perfectly combines a story that expands with each new update, as well as a very entertaining real-time combat system. In Genshin Impact, players play as the “Traveler”, a being without memories who wakes up in the continent of Teyvat with a mission that will take him to travel through the different regions of this universe, to find his lost relative, in a world where the elements (Cryo, Electro, etc.) are very important.
On the other hand, Sousou no Frieren is one of the stories that most impacted fans around the world, which was written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. In the year 2020 the manga would begin to be distributed by the renowned Shonen Sunday magazine, under the Shogakukan publishing label, quickly reaching a mass audience that could enjoy the story of Frieren, which today has 12 volumes. In addition, the success of this manga was such that in 2023 its anime was released, which managed to become one of the best in recent years.
In Sousou no Frieren we will find a captivating story that gives a twist to the classic adventures of heroes, since in this case we will see a group of adventurers who have already finished their journey. Here we will meet Frieren, the elf mage of the group who, due to her race, ages much slower than her companions, so she will inevitably see them leave this world first. But her adventure continues and we will see how she continues with her life, but remembering her past, in this case accompanied by her new apprentice Fern, in a beautiful new story for this elf.
