Fatal Fury

First Beta of Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves will be available soon

The iconic 1 vs. 1 fighting game series Fatal Fury is back after 26 years for next-gen consoles and the fandom of both the genre and the title couldn’t be more excited about the approaching date and confirmed characters. SNK Corporation officially announced as of summer 2024 that the legendary saga would return with “City of the Wolves” for PC via Steam, Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 at some point in 2025, marking its rebirth. A probable open Beta has been rumored for weeks and SNK confirmed that this test will be available for a whole weekend for gamers to enjoy the title.

Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves available from February 20 on all platforms

While modern generations may have forgotten the greatness of Fatal Fury, it is worth remembering that the title marked a before and after in the fighting genre, consolidating many titles and bringing its characters such as Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui in collaboration with other games like The King Of Fighters or more recently with Street Fighter 6, where you could acquire the beautiful Mai with some of her accessories. Although the SNK title has not been re-released in any other form in 26 years, it remains a cult classic for any gamer.

City Of The Wolves arrives as a title for any fan of the genre, because, not only will you see classic characters from arcade games like King Of Fighters or Street Fighter, but you will also get new characters, new gameplay, combos and endearing characters along with a surprise character already confirmed. For this reason and to attract another potential audience, the responsible for the latest installment of Fatal Fury, SNK Corporation decided to launch the first open Beta that does not discriminate any platform and will be launched on all platforms throughout this weekend, starting from February 20.

Fatal Fury Beta

In this totally free first open beta of Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves we will have available 8 old known, but impressive, characters to spend hours and hours of fun fighting against the system or online. We will also have available the innovative features that the game is offering us and that many do not know so far. The battle functions that differentiate City Of The Wolves from other modern fighting titles such as Street Fighter 6 or Mortal Kombat 1 are:

>REV Arts: Enhanced special attacks.
>REV Accel: Quick movements to surprise the opponent.
>REV Blows: Devastating blows available during Selective Potential Gear (S.P.G.).

This REV system was created with the goal of adding strategy to every fight, allowing users to fight at a higher speed until the “REV” meter overheats, so that every battle will be full of excitement, even in training mode. The classic modes existing in the original Fatal Fury such as Combination Attacks, Just Defense, and S.P.G. have been adapted for modern era fighting games, being more fluid, competitive and with impressive graphics. Finally, City Of The Wolves introduces the Arcade mode for orthodox gamers and Smart for new players who want to have an optimal gaming experience.
