The classic drawing style of the animation studio “Studio Ghibli has been delighting us with several previous fusions, such as the one where we saw how various Pokémon would look like in the style of this characteristic animation that distinguishes the famous studio. This time it is the turn of a classic American popular television, Family Guy comes to merge its protagonists with Studio Ghibli, and the result was incredibly satisfactory.
Family Guy and Studio Ghibli merge with cute illustrations
A video originally posted on TikTok and spread on Facebook and Instagram by user nenibox shows us some well-known characters from American animation, we are referring to the characters from the Family Guy series that come to merge with the characteristic animation used in the works of Studio Ghibli. As the video progresses we can observe the 6 main characters of the series and their respective adaptation to the Ghibli style.
The material begins with Peter Griffin, this comical family man who in this adaptation can be appreciated even a little more tender to his original design, his overweight is a little more distributed, adding height and a robust body, but not fat. A design that attracts attention and could add to the popularity of this head of the family. Followed by Lois Griffin, a red-haired woman who is already attractive in her original series, now in this fusion she looks even more beautiful, inspiring feminine strength, intelligence and independence.
Chris Griffin, the son of Peter and Lois, is the character that most closely resembles the original design, maintaining his physical proportions, facial features and clothing. Of the characters that most shocked the fans with their adaptation to Studio Ghibli’s style, Meg Griffin, the eldest daughter of the Griffins, and who her own family is responsible for reminding her again and again that her attractiveness is null. With this illustration Meg comes to silence mouths and conquer hearts with her version that besides being Ghibli style, overflows tenderness.
And as we well know, within Family Guy there are 2 characters that are the favorites of many, Stewie and Brian Griffin, the chaotic baby and the Griffins‘ mascot. Stewie is a baby with quite peculiar goals, which are captured in the essence of this illustration. Where we can see that his taste for war and his strong personality are still present; however, what is most striking is the “normal” shape of his head, since in the series we are used to seeing him with an oval head.
Finally, we have Brian Griffin, the family mascot, a character with refined tastes and broad culture, who walks, talks and dresses (sometimes) like a human being. That is why we can see in his illustration a glass by his side and a serious expression. After Meg Griffin’s version, we can say that this is the second most tender illustration of this fusion with Studio Ghibli.
It is not the first time that the Family Guy series receives a merger with Studio Ghibli, and is that browsing the internet, you can still find the previous merger that circulated mainly on Reddit. These 2 franchises show us that their great fandoms can be unified thanks to this kind of material. Definitely, a result that met our expectations and left us wanting to see more about this nice fusion.
