Recently, we shared with you in this article the funny news that a large number of Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion had taken over a Pizza Hut, which caused a lot of curiosity among internet users wondering what was going on in that place and why there were so many Rei gathered, since the video provided really little context about the situation. Today we bring you an update on this and is that, this army is no longer only present in Pizza Hut, but was seen in more places in Japan and in this note we tell you what happened.
Japan is conquered by a multitude of Rei from Evangelion
It was the same user as last time, @real_hotaru who posted the new video on his Twitter/X profile, just as he did before he did not put more context than a line that says “They are all drinking orange juice”, but it is not explained to us why this is happening, if it is a fan project or a video for entertainment purposes. This time these girls are seen going down some escalators, lined up outside an establishment, going up the stairs of a train station and that’s all you see in this short clip shared on social media.
The funny thing is that this time, what caused a sensation was not only the fact of seeing so many Rei together, but that during this video they were all drinking orange juice. In fact, that was what the user who posted this clip wrote and in the comments people also alluded to this fact. Some netizens said that orange juice is delicious, others added memes that were related to orange juice and even someone said that maybe they bought a very popular juice in Japan and finally, another user added that the owner of the juice store surely made a good profit that day.
Once again this funny video caused several reactions among Evangelion fans, since in addition to these comments associated with the juice, there was a great diversity of reactions from the followers of this account. For example, that this was something quite common and that it was called “Twinning”, adding that Rei was a very popular character to perform this practice. Another person commented on a funny meme where something similar to Rei’s army happens, but with Asuka, where it is noted that several members of a program in Japan decided to use cosplay of this Evangelion character.
One person made a rather funny and entertaining contribution, which said “Imagine losing your wife or girlfriend who is disguised as Rei in this Rei storm and then having to search for 4-5 people to find them.” And if we imagine going through this situation in real life it could be stressful or funny, depending on the person and how it is they take it or how it is that this event unfolds. One insightful person said that they wanted to believe that this was an Evangelion group cosplay, that they were acting out some scene and that’s why they had to stay together and not that they were all acting out Rei individually.
Again, some Evangelion fans made reference to the fact that Rei has had several clones throughout history and posted images proving this fact. As usual, many fans of this franchise were excited at the idea of being in this place surrounded by so many girls dressed as one of their favorite characters, fulfilling every anime fan’s dream of having their husbandos or waifus off-screen to spend some time by their side.
