Just by getting some news of Elden Ring the community is already getting the idea of one of the best video games ever released and therefore, that will always be recommended by anyone who has ventured into this vast world full of challenges and impossible bosses, but with one of the most enormous stories. Being at the level of Bloodborne in terms of story, with dozens of hours of gameplay, with a difficulty worthy of Sekiro and never getting repetitive, the deserved GOTY of 2022 had the peculiarity of having a collaboration with one of the masters of this genre: George R.R. Martin.

Until the release of the title in conjunction with Bandai Namco and From Software, Martin already had an enormous history in the science fiction genre, it is enough to say the awards achieved between 2011, 2019 and with House Of The Dragon of 2022. The creator of the works “Song of” participated in the co-writing and design of Elden Ring, areas of the video game that have been among the most acclaimed, besides being the first and only title in which he has worked.

Therefore, George R.R. Martin is the main candidate to make a Live-Action of the title in which he already participated for many years and to which he was quite fond of, besides the fact that the style of the American producer prefers this type of worlds. And those who followed the seasons of Game Of Thrones or read his collection of written works know this perfectly well. For 2024 the Bandai title received its DLC: “Shadow of the Erdtree” and in the coming months it will receive a huge second part “Nightrein” where Martin was not involved, however, it could have even more stories to tell if it is based on these two recent titles.

During an interview at IGN Fan Fest 2025, the director spoke regarding his involvement with the game and the likely big screen adaptation:

“Well, I can’t say too much about it, but there are some talks about making an Elden Ring movie.”

Hidetaka Miyazaki, creative genius behind FromSoftware, has also expressed interest in a film adaptation, provided the right partner is found, mentioning:

“I don’t see any reason to deny another interpretation or adaptation of Elden Ring to a movie, for example. But I don’t think myself, or FromSoftware, have the knowledge or ability to produce something in a different medium.”

The possible adaptation of Elden Ring has generated a lot of buzz among fans of the video game and followers of Martin’s work. The game’s universe, rich in mythology and memorable characters, offers great potential for an epic film. However, Martin’s involvement in the project remains uncertain due to his literary commitments. The combination of George R.R. Martin’s talent and FromSoftware’s vision could result in a film that captures the essence of the video game and appeals to an even wider audience.
