Edens Zero, an action-packed sci-fi manga created by Hiro Mashima, known for being the author of “Fairy Tail”, has surprised fans with shocking news: the epic journey of Shiki Granbell and his companion Rebecca through the cosmos is about to come to an end. According to the most recent issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, the work is only 5 chapters away from its end, this announcement has shocked fans as they wait to see how the final chapters will unfold.
Edens Zero confirms it will end in just 5 chapters
This week, the announcement of the end of the Edens Zero manga took all fans of the work by surprise. After more than five years of publication, it is unfortunate to know that a work that has accompanied millions of people around the world is about to end. The manga began publication on June 27, 2018 and, as of the date this article is being written, the manga has a total of 287 chapters.
The final chapter with which it is intended to end such a fantastic adventure is the 292nd, if there is no pause, the work would be ending this June 26 of this year. This announcement caused a wave of reactions on social networks, where many fans of Shiki Granbell’s adventures expressed their feelings with unique comments such as: “I love Edens Zero, I hope it has a good ending”, “I hope to see more Edens Zero content in the future”, “I can’t believe there are only 5 chapters left”, among others.
To date, Edens Zero has 31 volumes that compile the story up to chapter 275 of the manga. It is important to note that, for those who wish to read the manga in Spanish, the work has been licensed by Panini Manga and Norma Editorial. These publishers release new volumes adapted to our language on a regular basis.
In addition, the Edens Zero manga has inspired an anime adaptation by animation studio J.C. Staff. The series premiered in mid-April 2021 and consisted of 25 episodes, subsequently, a second season began airing in April 2023, also consisting of 25 episodes. It should be noted that a compilation movie summarizing the first season was also released. The anime is available through Crunchyroll, Netflix and Anime Onegai, the latter two platforms being the ones that offer dubbing into English.
For those who do not know the story of Edens Zero, it introduces us to Shiki Granbell, a young orphan who spends his days in Granbell, an area that was once known for being a great theme park, being that one day, and because he travels to that area, our protagonist meets Rebecca, becoming friends quickly. Between them they decide to record a video for Aoneko Channel, but they are kidnapped by robots that are being commanded by the Demon King, who in his plans has our protagonists.
