Drunk Bullet - Manga

Last Saturday, June 15 of this year, Manga Plus, through its official Twitter/X account, informed the new addition of the manga for the enjoyment of readers, which is available in a variety of regions around the globe. It should be noted that for the moment the platform only offers English translation for the Drunk Bullet manga, so if you want to read it from the platform you will have to add the content in the English language from the settings menu.

The work is in charge of Yanagi Takakuchi, who is responsible for both the script and the drawing that makes up the manga in question, while its editor in charge is Mamoru Tsuchiya. The author has already been in charge of other works, as is the case of his previous works such as: Magical Sister and Harahara-sensei, in which he also took the role of scriptwriter and illustrator. I feel the latter is a manga that has 4 compilation volumes.

The first chapter of Drunk Bullet offers 71 pages in which condenses the beginning of Gary’s adventure, with only two of them being a double-page color illustration of the protagonist. While the team behind the translation is formed by Ella Barton as translator, Rafael Zaiats in charge of the typography and the edition is in charge of MediBang Inc.

According to the platform, the manga will be published weekly, with the next chapter scheduled for Saturday, June 22. In addition, a clarification is made to us, as the first 6 chapters are available for free, but as new episodes are added, the chapters in between will be hidden. This means that the first and last episodes will be available as they are released, something common in the platform that has already applied the same methodology with different titles.

Drunk Bullet is set in the United States, which after the end of World War I, Gary returns home to enjoy a good drink to overcome his sorrows, but runs into Prohibition, a measure that prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages. In his search for something to drink, an accident leads him to meet Paul, who by way of compensation takes him to the family restaurant where he and his older sister Delphine are in charge of managing it.

To Gary’s surprise, the restaurant offers alcohol to its most frequent diners, which produces mixed emotions in our protagonist who insists on some of the precious elixir. Until the action is interrupted by a gang in search of liquor. The situation becomes complicated, and despite Gary and Paul’s attempts to confront them, Delphine agrees to take them to where the merchandise is stored in order to avoid an altercation in the restaurant.

Subjected to the concern that the actions that Delphine could commit, they both go to her aid. The encounter ends in a combat where Gary evidences his military skills in an action sequence where firearms take center stage.

Finally, Gary can enjoy some whiskey in compensation for having helped the brothers, but a particular piece of news changes the mood.
