After almost a year of waiting since its announcement at “The Game Awards” in 2023, the video game belonging to Akira Toriyama’s franchise called “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO” is just days away from being officially released. The last releases of the Dragon Ball videogame saga had been a success, but at least these last two did not have the huge promotion of Sparking! ZERO and an example of this is that the final list of characters was revealed in recent hours, which include some of the most epic characters in the history of the franchise.
It is revealed that Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO to feature 182 characters at launch
Bandai Namco had been keeping its users totally satisfied with the announcement of the characters in the game and although to date the exact number was not known, you could see a puzzle-like panel that was filled with characters at the end of each new preview. One of the most epic was the Dragon Ball GT saga, where 15 fighters were presented, among them Pan, Omega Shenlong, Gogeta SSJ4, waiting for new announcements.
And now those epic presentations became reality through a 5-minute video in recent hours where the latest characters have been revealed, which may be the most epic of the installment: Cabba (SSJ, SSJ2), Frost, Toppo, Goku (Teen), Broly (DBZ), Broly (SSJ, Legendary SSJ), Cooler (Final Form), Metal Cooler, Android 13 (Android 13 Fusion), Super Garlic Jr, Dr. Wheelo, Slug (Giant Form), Turles, Bojack (Ultimate Power), Hirudegarn, Tapion, Janemba (Super Janemba), Super Gogeta (DBZ),
With these 18 characters added in this latest trailer, a total of 182 epic characters are confirmed, so everything is set for the release of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO on October 11, being that it is still possible to pre-order through digital stores. The game will be multiplatform for next-generation consoles: PlayStation 5, Xbox X Series X|S and will also be available on PC through the Steam platform.
Since December 2023 at the Games Awards it was announced the future release of a new title of the Dragon Ball franchise and that it would not be any kind of video game, as it would belong to the “Budokai Tenkachi” saga. This saga had no game since 2011 with “Ultimate Tenkachi” and seemed to have been forgotten by developers, however, returned with an unexpected and well-deserved force to break with previous expectations that had any previous game of the saga, specifically the last 2 deliveries (Kakarot and Fighterz Z).
The delivery “Kakarot” was released in 2020 in the middle of the year of the launch of the consoles called “Next-Gen” as were the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at the time, although this surprised, because it did not focus entirely on 1v1 battles but in a completely different story unlike what had been the deliveries. Now with the release of Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO the franchise will return to its roots of one-on-one combat game with a wildness that we are accustomed to the world of Dragon Ball.
