The long-awaited collaboration between the universes of MapleStory and Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) has arrived, delighting fans of both franchises, however, recently this union has given rise to talk about a small detail in one of the promotional images. A wave of comments and memes has been unleashed on social networks, more precisely with the representation of Tanjiro Kamado, the demon hunter, in his chibi and pixelated version for MapleStory, as it gives the feeling that he is showing too much.
MapleStory and Demon Slayer collaboration causes uproar over Tanjiro image
Recently, an image has been circulating that is part of the publicity for the collaboration between MapleStory and Demon Slayer. However, seeing Tanjiro Kamado wielding his katana in a dynamic pose, in a combination of his chibi version, MapleStory’s signature pixelated style and a slight twist of the wrist, something caught the eye. And what has generated the confusion is how at first glance, and with a little imagination, the position of Tanjiro’s hands might suggest a more daring pose on the part of the Demon Slayer protagonist.
This image, and the fans’ way of giving it an interpretation, has unleashed the creativity of users on social networks like Twitter, Reddit and Facebook, who have not hesitated to share memes and witty comments about the situation: from comparisons with other characters, to references to very funny situations with other series, the image has quickly become a viral phenomenon, which has given a lot to talk about because of the way Tanjiro from Demon Slayer is seen.
However, this photo hides nothing “whimsical”, and if you can appreciate in more detail the image of MapleStory and Demon Slayer, you can find a more detailed analysis, leading to reveal that it is simply a game of lights and shadows, and that Tanjiro’s pose is completely different. The pixelated style, by reducing the details, can sometimes play with our perception and generate optical illusions, and give the fans this incredible and funny confusion.
