Deadpool and Wolverine is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movies of the year, as it will not only introduce Deadpool to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (also known as the UCM or MCU) but will also mark the return of Hugh Jackman in the role of Wolverine. The well-known beer brand Heineken knew how to take advantage of the popularity of these characters, as they collaborated with Marvel to create this fun advertisement starring the actors of the film.

Heineken sent us an official press release with the announcement of this creative new ad, which you can watch right now on their Facebook and Instagram accounts. In this video, we can see Deadpool and Wolverine confronting each other in the middle of a forest when, suddenly, Wade tries to calm Logan down and, after that fails, reveals to him that he used the Adamantium in his body (Because, according to Deadpool, “that’s something he can do”) to create a new Heineken Silver beer can. The song “Just The Two Of Us” starts playing in the background and the two iconic mutants sit down together to enjoy the drink. It’s a very funny commercial.
It’s evident that there’s a lot of budget behind this video: Not only because it was filmed as if it was part of the new movie, but also because it stars Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool Actor) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine Actor) themselves. In the official statement, the two actors commented the following: “One thing Deadpool and Wolverine agree on is that Toad is nobody’s favorite mutant and another thing we also agree on is that we’re happy to be joining the UCM with Heineken Silver. Nothing gets you through the long, confusing days in the multiverse like the ultra-light, refreshing taste of Heineken Silver.”
Heineken Mexico’s Vice President of Marketing, Marta Garcia, commented: “We are very excited about the opportunity to continue telling stories hand in hand with world-class platforms such as the UCM with this collaboration with Deadpool and Wolverine, which will remain in the minds and hearts of fans as an example that inspires to leave behind differences and bitter moments, which is what characterizes Heineken Silver: Overcoming bitterness,” which makes it clear that this hilarious collaboration is part of a clever marketing ploy to sell this product to passionate UCM fans. And it’s so well done that it’s bound to work.
On the other hand, Holly Frank, the brand’s VP of Sponsorships and Operations, said something very curious when she declared that “Heineken Silver is giving fans more of what they want with this campaign: to DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE!” It should be clarified that this is not the first time Heineken has been involved with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as this iconic beer brand has already made appearances in other Marvel projects, such as in the Falcon & The Winter Soldier series or in the Super Bowl campaign for Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania.
So it’s clear that Disney and Marvel have a close relationship with Heineken, and these kinds of commercials show us that this relationship will continue for years to come. The beer brand also confirmed that, very soon, Heineken Silver will be running a dynamic for its fans to win collectible prizes themed to the new movie, so you should stay tuned to try to participate. Deadpool and Wolverine will be available in theaters worldwide starting July 25, and Marvel fans can’t wait to see it.
