Idea Factory International has just announced that the visual novel Date A Live: Ren Dystopia will be released worldwide for PC through Steam. Although for now they did not reveal an exact release date, they did confirm that it will be sometime this 2024. The original version of this game had been released for PlayStation 4 exclusively in Japan, so fans of the saga have been waiting for an international release for quite some time. However, this new port will not be available for PS4, since, according to Idea Factory International, they decided to release it on PC to reach the global audience that had appreciated the Stema release of Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation.

That’s right, Ren Dystopia is a direct sequel to Rio Reincarnation and its plot takes place after the events of that game. In this one, a new emerging spirit named Natsumi appears and confronts Deus Ex Industries. Shido Itsuka manages to protect her and seal her powers. Now, he and his friends must protect this new transformed world from new threats. This visual novel has everything you would expect from a video game based on Date A Live: lots of waifus, a great sense of humor and a surprisingly deep plot. If you liked Rio Reincarnation, you can’t miss its sequel.

With 9 different routes and 15 alternative endings, this video game has a lot of content for fans of the franchise and is considered a masterpiece of the visual novel genre. And that’s not all! Because Idea Factory International revealed that the global release of Date A Live: Ren Dystopia will be available in a Digital Deluxe Version that will include: A collection of character art, a collection of sketch art, the game’s official soundtrack, the short novel “Ren Masques” in Japanese, English & Chinese and two audio dramas in Japanese, with English and Chinese subtitles: “Natsumi Encounter” and “Origami Friendship”.

Also note that both the regular and Deluxe versions of the game will be 15% off for the first week of release. This is great, although it’s also something that’s hard to enjoy until we have a definite release date. On the other hand, many fans will be disappointed that it won’t be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch, as there is a huge audience of visual novel players on those platforms. If you are interested in Date A Live: Ren Dystopia, you can visit its Steam page and add it to your wishlist right now.
