In order to promote the upcoming release of its Blu-Ray/DVD volumes and the upcoming premiere of its fifth season, the anime adaptation of the light novel “Date a Live” has prepared some special surprises for fans who are waiting for the arrival of April to enjoy the new installment of the series.
These surprises were presented in the section focused on the Blu-Ray/DVD volumes of the fifth season of the anime series “Date a Live“, where special visuals were revealed that will be given to the public as a benefit with the purchase/reservation of these packages that correspond to the fifth season of the anime.
As some of you may know, these visuals will be used for the creation of special products that will be given as a benefit to those people who purchase these Blu-Ray/DVD of “Date a Live V” in the respective specialized stores in Japan. In addition, it should be noted that these illustrations will feature the characters Kurumi Tokisaki, Tohka Yatogami and the new spirit Mio Takamiya, who will make her official debut in Date a Live in this fifth season,
Date a Live exploits the appeal of its waifus on Blu-Ray/DVD
Previously, the official website of the anime adaptation of the light novel “Date a Live” announced that its long-awaited fifth season, entitled “Date a Live V“, will be composed of a total of 12 episodes, which will be distributed on 2 Blu-Ray/DVD volumes. Below are the respective release dates of these packages:
- First Volume Blu-Ray/DVD:
- Launch date: Wednesday, July 24, 2024
- Contents: Episodes 1 to 6 of the fifth season of the series.
- Second Volume Blu-Ray/DVD:
- Launch date: Wednesday, August 28, 2024
- Contents: Episodes 7 to 12 of the fifth season of the series.
“Date a Live V” is scheduled to premiere on Japanese television on April 10 of this year. Additionally, Crunchyroll announced that this new installment of the series will be legally simulcast in America through its platform.
It is worth noting that the fifth season of the anime Date a Live will feature the participation of the following production team: Jun Nakagawa will once again be in charge of directing the anime. The animation studio GEEK TOYS will be in charge of its production. Fumihiko Shimo will be in charge of composing the anime. Naoto Nakamura will be in charge of the anime’s character design. Go Sakabe will be in charge of composing the anime’s soundtrack.

“Date a Live” presents a reality transformed by cosmic events that have left an indelible mark on human history. Three decades ago, a cataclysm known as the “space earthquake” shook the Eurasian continent, claiming the lives of millions and generating mysterious vibrations that still resonate in the present. Although today’s space earthquakes are less devastating in magnitude, they persist as a constant reminder of the fragility of human existence.
In the midst of this chaos, we are introduced to Shidou Itsuka, a high school student whose seemingly ordinary life takes an unexpected turn the moment a space earthquake threatens the city of Tengu and Shidou bravely springs into action. However, he is caught in an explosion that irreversibly alters his destiny. At that precise moment, his path crosses that of an enigmatic young woman, triggering a series of events that will plunge him into a hidden world full of dangers.
It turns out that this enigmatic young woman is a “Spirit,” an entity from an unknown plane whose mere presence triggers the dreaded space earthquakes. As Shidou delves deeper into this enigma, he is drawn into a conflict of cosmic dimensions. On the one hand, the Anti-Spirit Team seeks the relentless elimination of these entities, considered a threat. On the other hand, a third group known as “Ratatoskr”, led by Shidou’s younger sister, Kotori, believes in the redemption of the Spirits and proposes a bold alternative: to conquer them through love.
This is how our protagonist finds himself in a unique and challenging situation: he must face a race against time to win the hearts of these enigmatic entities and thus prevent catastrophic disasters. The plot unfolds with unexpected twists, intense emotions and comical situations, as Shidou embarks on peculiar dates and adventures in pursuit of a mission that could save both the Spirits and the entire world.
