After so much waiting, finally the anime series adaptation of Dandadan has arrived to us and we have to say that the reception of its first episode was really good. This first episode has flooded the networks in different ways and today has gone viral a tweet shared by the user @sushixpizza which tells us about one of the characters of the series, to be more specific about one of the friends of the protagonist Momo which attracted a lot of attention for her curious makeup.

This post tells us that the makeup of Momo’s friend Kei-san is known as MANBA GYARU which belongs to a Japanese subculture or tribe that focused mainly on beauty and this was formed mostly by young women. This style had its boom in the 2000’s where idols appeared breaking with the stereotype of women with pale skin and natural makeup; unlike that style the Gyaru is extravagant, flirtatious and very colorful, women wear heavy makeup, false eyelashes and false eyelashes and the clothes are more daring.
Gyaru style and fashion are very varied depending on the subcategory, in general terms, this style evokes a glamorous aesthetic, which is mainly seen in women with golden skin and blonde hair. It is quite ingenious how this touch was added in the Dandadan series which can be mostly appreciated thanks to the colors of the animation and it is surprising that fans and new viewers did not overlook this detail.
