A couple of hours ago the Twitter/X account @GeraldJess1 shared a beautiful fanart of Momo from the Dandadan series and Akane from the cult anime series Ranma 1/2. It’s no wonder that many fans of these series are trying to express their love for them, as they are on everyone’s lips at the moment.

DAN DA DAN has given a lot to talk about at the moment and since its premiere, many people have fallen in love with it. Its funny and out of the ordinary story has managed to captivate as well as its extravagant characters of which our protagonist Momo has already positioned herself as one of the waifus of the season, so it is not surprising that some fan created a fanart of this character.
On the other hand, we have Ranma 1/2 series that is still on air, in this case with its Remake and has been surrounded by multiple controversies due to the different comparisons with the first version, as well as some criticisms to its censorship in different important scenes, the changes in the animation and the colour palette are noticeable.
In spite of everything, Ranma 1/2 has fans who are very loyal to his work and are happy to honour their beautiful Akane with different tributes such as fanart where we have been able to see this character located in another world, wearing different clothes, in a more realistic version or even dressed like other characters from big franchises.
Something distinctive about the fanart that was shared with us is that Momo and Akane are swapping clothes. On the one hand, we have Momo, who wears a long light blue dress over a white shirt with short puffy sleeves and collar, this outfit certainly gives us a very different look at the character’s style, as she looks more adorable in the fanart.
The outfit worn by Momo is complemented by long white socks that sit below the knee. Also, her pose is cute: her hands are clasped together in front of her lap as she clutches her coffee-coloured briefcase. On the other hand, Momo seems to be wearing her hair short, which makes her look more childlike, she is looking to the side and her cheeks are slightly flushed.
In the fanart we can see Akane wearing the outfit that Momo wears in DAN DA DAN, the outfit is characterized by her miniskirt and her pink jumper, in addition to the use of moccasins that she wears over white socks at the calf. Here what stands out is Akane’s expression, her hands are around her face and she gives us an expression of astonishment, her lips form an ‘o’ and her cheeks, like those of her image partner, look flushed.
It’s always refreshing to be able to look at fanart from different artists, as they give us a completely different take on different series we love. And this interesting crossover was something we didn’t know we needed, plus it was a pretty ingenious move to place two characters from such famous series that are both currently on air, and we certainly hope to see more art of this style.
Momo who stars in this fanart comes from the anime/manga series DAN DA DAN which tells the story of a young man named Ken Takakura and how both he and Momo are involved in a lot of paranormal events, as it turns out that Takakura believes in aliens and Momo in turn, believes that ghosts exist.
Finally, we have Ranma 1/2, a series that by now is a classic, where the main character is Ranma, a boy who one day together with his father Genma suffers an accident where they both fall into some fountains that are cursed. Now Ranma when he gets wet with cold water turns into a woman and his father turns into a panda.
