During a meeting in which results about the CD Projekt franchise were presented, CEO Michał Nowakowski, answered the question he was asked about the possibility of having more Cyberpunk related projects, and with his answer he implied that more things were planned about this series in terms of animation. His statement was basically the following: “We are planning to do more in terms of animation with Cyberpunk, so I hope that’s enough as an answer”, “Expect to see more, but this is all I can say right now”.
Nowakowski’s words took Cyberpunk fans by surprise, as he and the other people in charge of the development of this story had previously stated that there would not be a sequel to the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. In fact, Satoru Honma, the person in charge in Japan of CD Projekt, confirmed that there were no plans for a second season of the series, as Edgerunners was intended to be an independent series.
What the CEO said during this call, was not a confirmation about future projects, but at least it gives hope to the public that there is a great possibility to see more about this world in anime format, since this franchise has grown in other formats, such as books, comics and even a live action of which there is still not much information, the truth is that there is still a lot of Cyberpunk content to keep the public excited.
