Crunchyroll adds a feature long requested by fans

Finally, “Crunchyroll“, one of the largest anime streaming platforms in the continent, has announced a new feature that fans have been asking for many years. As many will know after the departure of “HIDIVE” from the region, the Sony-owned company is along with “Anime Onegai” the only 2 platforms whose catalog is fully focused on distributing anime legally throughout America. Therefore, the importance of this new move will bring new fans to the streaming service.

Crunchyroll surprises anime fans with new news!

Crunchyroll Añade Una Función Que Los Fans Pedían Hace Tiempo

Through a press release, “Crunchyroll” has finally announced the long-awaited feature that anime fans and the platform had been waiting for so long, we are talking about the “profiles” within the platform. According to the official message, this new feature will be arriving before the end of this month of April, but only available to users whose account is “premium” so those fans with free accounts will not be able to have them. Additionally, it was informed that they will be able to create up to 5 profiles in a single account.

Users will be able to customize their profiles through different avatars, as images of the most popular characters from up to 30 different anime will be available, such as Frieren from “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” (Sousou Frieren), Sung Jin-woo from “Solo Leveling” (Ore dake Level Up na Ken), Naofumi Iwatani from The Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari), among others. With these new profiles, the company promises better personalized recommendations, improved parental control functions and clarified that it will be possible to watch the different series at the same time.

Crunchyroll Añade Una Función Que Los Fans Pedían Hace Tiempo

It is worth remembering that the profiles function within an account was one of the pending issues that Crunchyroll had with anime fans in the continent, because previously subscribers who shared an account with a friend or family member only had the option of creating “Crunchylists“. These lists are created by adding the anime that they had pending to watch, that they were watching and that would be soon to be released, but by the nature of these it was very common that both users were watching the same series, so the progress of one or the other would be affected.

Likewise, many users with different tastes were also affected by the personalized recommendations that Crunchyroll offered them, so with the arrival of these new profiles, those problems will be over. Undoubtedly great news for all anime fans, whose reactions have not been long in coming since this new and exciting announcement was published by the platform.

Many of these reactions have been of pleasure and gratitude from many anime fans, because as the vast majority have commented, they will finally be able to watch their favorite anime without the fear of “ruining the experience” of their friends or family with whom they are sharing the account. So tell us in the comments section, if you are part of the fans who celebrate this new move by Crunchyroll, if you are one of those users who shared the account and sometimes you came to have a bad experience by not having these profiles or if thanks to this you will subscribe to the platform.
