Through a press release, “Crunchyroll” has finally announced the long-awaited feature that anime fans and the platform had been waiting for so long, we are talking about the “profiles” within the platform. According to the official message, this new feature will be arriving before the end of this month of April, but only available to users whose account is “premium” so those fans with free accounts will not be able to have them. Additionally, it was informed that they will be able to create up to 5 profiles in a single account.
Users will be able to customize their profiles through different avatars, as images of the most popular characters from up to 30 different anime will be available, such as Frieren from “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” (Sousou Frieren), Sung Jin-woo from “Solo Leveling” (Ore dake Level Up na Ken), Naofumi Iwatani from The Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari), among others. With these new profiles, the company promises better personalized recommendations, improved parental control functions and clarified that it will be possible to watch the different series at the same time.
It is worth remembering that the profiles function within an account was one of the pending issues that Crunchyroll had with anime fans in the continent, because previously subscribers who shared an account with a friend or family member only had the option of creating “Crunchylists“. These lists are created by adding the anime that they had pending to watch, that they were watching and that would be soon to be released, but by the nature of these it was very common that both users were watching the same series, so the progress of one or the other would be affected.
