During the summer of 2015, the anime called “Charlotte” debuted on Japanese television, preceded by great hype due to the fact that it was none other than the most recent work, at that time, of the legendary Jun Maeda, known for popular stories such as “CLANNAD” and “Angel Beats”.
Evidently, “Charlotte” lived up to the expectations placed on it thanks to its touching story full of comedy and with that characteristic dramatic touch that the Japanese creative endows his works with. This time, almost 10 years after the work saw the light of day, “Charlotte” returns with an impeccable illustration to fan the flames of Christmas hype among anime fans.
Charlotte” protagonists Nao and Yuu return in this cute and romantic Christmas illustration.
Through its official account in “X”, the important visual novel developer studio founded by Jun Maeda, called “Key” (Key Visual Arts) published this Christmas-themed image of Nao Tomori and Yuu Otosaka protagonists of the acclaimed anime series “Charlotte”, and where they start the countdown to this long-awaited celebration both in the West and in Japan.
In this illustration we see Yuu wearing the traditional and very recognizable Santa Claus outfit, which consists of a bright red coat with small details of white quilted fabric on the edges, as well as pants of the same color while carrying Nao with both arms.
Nao, on the other hand, wears her school attire, but with a winter twist due to the beige coat she wears, while holding a video camera. A quite remarkable detail is that the silver-haired girl wears on her head the Christmas hat that would correspond to Yuu, but this detail, together with her absorbed gaze on him and the caress on the face of this boy, gives us an excellent image worthy of a Christmas celebration in Japan.
This publication, which the studio accompanied with the message: “It’s almost Christmas!”, quickly became very popular on the social network, reaching more than 28 thousand “likes”, more than 6 thousand republishes and almost 800 thousand views. It is worth mentioning that the post was also filled with several comments from fans who joined the pre-Christmas hype, praising this illustration.
Undoubtedly, an excellent illustration of a franchise that is still well remembered and loved by anime fans. As well as the starting flag for the arrival of the long awaited date that gives us anime fans many surprises and that has a very particular tradition in the anime industry, which are always very interesting and anecdotal.
