Chainsaw Man invades BanG Dream! Girls Band Party in an epic collaboration
The Chainsaw Man universe is about to expand globally thanks to a long-awaited collaboration with the popular mobile game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party. Following its success in Japan in June 2023, this special event will finally be coming to the English version of the game, the game’s official X/Twitter account recently announced. Although the exact date has not yet been confirmed, the news has generated great anticipation among fans of both titles.
When the collaboration debuted in Japan, it brought with it a unique experience for fans. Two songs specially reversioned for the game stood out: “Chainsaw Blood” performed by Afterglow and “Fight Song” in the voice of Roselia, both key musical pieces from the Chainsaw Man anime. In addition, the event included a series of special outfits that allowed players to dress up their favorite BanG Dream! characters as the iconic protagonists of the anime.
Among the costumes, Rui embodied Aki Hayakawa, Rimi took on the role of Kobeni Higashiyama, Toko transformed into Power, Sayo took on the role of Makima, and Ran portrayed Denji, the central anti-hero of Chainsaw Man. This merging of universes not only provided a stunning visual experience, but also added a layer of depth and excitement for players by allowing them to experience the world of Chainsaw Man from a new musical and aesthetic perspective.
The international gaming community is eagerly awaiting more details on the global release, anticipating an immersive experience that combines the action and intensity of Chainsaw Man with the musical energy and charm of BanG Dream! This collaboration promises to be a milestone for both fandoms, taking the fusion of music, action and anime to a new level.
The arrival of this collaboration coincides with the continued rise of Chainsaw Man in the anime and manga realm. The anime adaptation, produced by MAPPA, left a strong impression with its first season, highlighted by its high-quality animation and intense storytelling. Although a second season has not yet been officially confirmed, expectations among fans continue to grow due to the series’ global success.
On the other hand, the Chainsaw Man manga, written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, continues in full publication, keeping readers captivated with its breakneck pace and unexpected twists and turns. With each new chapter, the work reaffirms its position as one of today’s top titles, cementing its legacy both in Japan and internationally.
With this collaboration about to be released, the Chainsaw Man universe continues to expand beyond the pages and screens, bringing it directly into the interactive and musical world of BanG Dream! Girls Band Party.
In addition to the collaboration with BanG Dream! Girls Band Party, the Chainsaw Man franchise continues to expand with its first movie titled The Movie: Reze Arc, scheduled for release in 2024. This film, produced by the MAPPA studio, will adapt the arc of Reze, a mysterious girl connected to the bomb demon and USSR experiments.
This arc follows the events of the confrontation with Katana Man and promises to show a more emotional side of Denji as he faces new challenges and complex bonds. Although there is no exact release date yet, it is estimated to arrive in the second half of the year, continuing the manga’s narrative and offering a more intense and cinematic experience for anime fans.
