At the live presentation of the TV anime “Chainsaw Man” at the Jump Festa 2024 event, an incredible news that has excited the fervent followers of the franchise was revealed: the confirmation of the production of a movie for the series.
The film will be titled “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc“, and as the name suggests, we will be introduced to the character Reze, who made a brief appearance in the last episode of the anime series. Chainsaw Man is back with a Reze film

“Chainsaw Man” is a shonen manga created by Tatsuki Fujimoto, who is in charge of both writing and illustration. The manga debuted in December 2018 in the pages of the weekly magazine Weekly Shonen Jump, under the Shueisha publishing imprint. When the Chainsaw Man story reached its conclusion in December 2020, publisher Shueisha announced exciting news: the work would have a sequel, which began serialization on July 12, 2022.
October 11, 2022 marked the exciting premiere of the anime based on the manga “Chainsaw Man,” which consists of a total of 12 episodes. Renowned animation studio MAPPA led the production of the series, under the skillful direction of Ryu Nakayama. Currently, the series can be enjoyed legally on the Crunchyroll platform and has an English dub available.
“Chainsaw Man” tells the unexpected and grim odyssey of Denji, a young man whose life takes an unexpected turn when he loses everything: an unpaid debt and the monotony of an existence devoid of his normal adolescence. His only companion is Pochita, a chainsaw-shaped demon with whom he makes a living eliminating demons for the yakuza. Denji longs for the essentials: a simple life, delicious food and a loving companion by his side.
However, fate takes a sinister turn when a greedy betrayal by the yakuza leads to an untimely and brutal death, dashing all hope of happiness. But in an unexpected twist, an ancient contract allows Pochita to merge with the deceased Denji, granting him demonic powers and transforming his anatomy into deadly chainsaws.
While these new abilities are impressive, they pose a considerable risk to society. That’s when Makima, an elite demon hunter from the Public Security Bureau, enters the picture. Offering Denji an extraordinary opportunity, Makima allows him to live under one condition: obey her orders and use his abilities to confront demonic threats.
Moved by the promise of a better life and the possibility of being with an attractive woman, Denji gives himself completely to this new cause. However, his journey is fraught with challenges, moral dilemmas and dark secrets lurking in the shadows.
