Chainsaw Man is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It began publishing through the weekly magazine Weekly Shonen Jump that belongs to the publisher Shueisha since December 2018. When the Chainsaw Man manga reached its end in December 2020, Shueisha announced that the work would have a second part that began its publication from July 12th this year.
In addition, the second part of the Chainsaw Man manga is available legally and free of charge through the service “Shonen Jump+”. Currently, Shueisha has published 13 compilation volumes in total and a few weeks ago it was reported that the work managed to surpass 20 million copies in circulation.
On October 11th, 2022, the Chainsaw Man manga premiered its anime adaptation, composed of a total of 12 episodes. Synopsis of Chainsaw Man:
Denji has a simple dream: to live a happy and peaceful life, spending time with the girl he likes. However, this is far from reality, as the yakuza forces Denji to kill demons to pay off his late father’s crushing debts. Using his pet demon Pochita as a weapon, he is ready to do anything for some money.
Unfortunately, he is killed by a demon in contract with the yakuza. However, in an unexpected turn of events, Pochita merges with Denji’s corpse and grants him the powers of a chainsaw.
Now able to transform parts of his body into chainsaws, a revived Denji uses his new abilities to quickly and brutally dispatch his enemies. Attracting the attention of official demon hunters who arrive at the scene, he is offered work at the Public Safety Office as one of them. Now, with the means to face even the toughest enemies, Denji will not stop at anything to achieve his simple teenage dreams.
