Although the official premiere is still several months away, the second season of the anime Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) is already generating great expectation among fans. The great expectation for the arrival of the second season of the series is not only due to the development of the plot in the anime, but also to an important change in its production: the studio in charge of animating it will be different from that of the first season.
With Passione at the helm, fans believe Chained Soldier will go up a notch in its second season
While the first installment was produced by Seven Arcs studio, known for works such as TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You (Tonikaku Kawaii) and Trinity Seven, the second season will be in charge of Passione. This animation studio has gained notoriety in recent years thanks to its participation in titles such as High School DxD Hero, Interspecies Reviewers (Ishuzoku Reviewers) and Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World (Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo), anime characterized by a striking visual style and a strong load of racy content.
The change of studio has generated diverse reactions among fans of the series. Many feel that Passione could bring a bolder approach to the ecchi scenes in Chained Soldier’s second season, be it more detailed moments in this content, more fanservice moments, without leaving behind other moments that could also be animated in Passione’s style. While the Seven Arcs adaptation was well received, there is a perception that Passione could take certain visual aspects to a new level, in line with their previous productions.
It is worth noting that the second season of the anime Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) will premiere in Japan in January 2026. As mentioned above, the animation studio Passione, together with Hayabusa Film, will replace Seven Arcs and will be in charge of the production of this installment of the series.
The production team for the second season of Chained Soldier is as follows: Masafumi Tamura will replace Junji Nishimura and Gorou Kuji and will be in charge of directing the second season of the anime. Chained Soldier has the following description:
As his school days draw to a close, Yuuki Wakura worries about his future. As he laments the prospect of living a normal life, he is suddenly drawn into the world of Mato: an alternate dimension filled with dangerous monsters called Shuuki. Over the years since the existence of Mato was first confirmed, incidents of people accidentally wandering into the other world have become commonplace.
To combat the Shuuki threat and rescue victims like Yuuki, the all-female Demon Defense Force was created. Its members have been blessed with the power of the “Peaches,” Mato fruits that grant supernatural abilities only to women.
Although Yuuki’s situation is desperate, Kyouka Uzen, the head of the seventh unit of the Demon Defense Force, saves him at the last moment. Despite Kyouka’s impeccable battle skills, she has long been held back by her ability, Slave, bestowed by Peach. Slave allows Kyouka to bring a living being under his control and extract its strength, but all of the Shuuki he had enslaved so far had proven to be extremely weak.
When Yuuki and Kyouka find themselves surrounded by a horde of Shuuki, Kyouka resorts to something he has never tried before: using his ability on a man. To his surprise, Yuuki’s slave form is far more powerful than he could have imagined. Kyouka believes the young man is the key to discovering his true potential and invites Yuuki to join the Demon Defense Force, but not as a regular member.
