Recently, a new trailer for the live action of Cells at Work! (Hataraku Saibou) was released on the Warner Bros. Japan channel, which has generated great excitement among fans of the series. Since the release of this new installment, and now with this new video, you can get a glimpse of how the famous cells of the anime have been transferred to the big screen, highlighting the fidelity to the original material and the quality of the production. In addition, this new trailer also announced the pre-sale, so that fans can purchase their tickets.
Cells at Work! will be distributed by Warner Bros. in Japan and is directed by Hideki Takeuchi, known for his ability to bring anime adaptations to the live action format. The action choreography will be handled by Takahito Ouchi, who has worked on multiple productions to ensure dynamic and exciting scenes. The cast includes Mei Nagano, who will play the red cell, and Takeru Sato, who will take on the role of the white cell. In the human roles, Mana Ashida will play Urushizaki Niko, a high school student, while Sadao Abe will be Urushizaki Shigeru, Niko’s father.
With this news, fans of Cells at Work! can now purchase their pre-sale tickets through different websites with two options available: the general ticket at ¥1,600 and the children’s ticket at ¥900, the pre-sale will be open until December 12, just one day before the official release of the film, which will take place on December 13, 2024 in Japan.

The live action of Cells at Work! (Hataraku Saibou) follows the smallest protagonists in the history of cinema, known as cells in the vast universe of the human body. Here reside 37 trillion cells, such as oxygen-carrying red blood cells, bacteria-fighting white blood cells, and many other cells that work day and night at their best to protect your health and life. In this story, the plot follows Niko Urushizaki, a high school student, and her father Shigeru.
Niko, with his serious character and healthy lifestyle, inspires the cells in his body to work with enthusiasm and efficiency, in contrast, Shigeru leads an irregular and unhealthy life, resulting in tired and unmotivated cells struggling against an adverse environment. As pathogens begin to move in and threaten the body’s balance, the film dives into the “greatest battle in the history of the body’s interior,” the difference between the father and daughter in their lifestyles reflecting the internal struggle faced by the cells within the body that will determine the future of the Urushizaki family.
