Since its premiere this spring 2024 season, the anime adaptation of the well-known video game Blue Archive has been embroiled in controversy after controversy. Most fans are not at all happy with the anime, either for one issue or another, and this time, fans of this franchise complained about an alteration that has suffered the animation of one of the waifus of Blue Archive: Yuuka Hayase, more precisely in the size of her thighs, in this case changing size, so the fans are already enraged in the networks.

In the recent episode of Blue Archive, we had a great scene with the appearance of two characters, Noah Nakishio and Yuuka Hayase. The latter is known in the videogame for having a shapely thighs, a feature that fans seem to like a lot. That is why, when watching her version in the anime, many Blue Archive fans were quite surprised when they noticed Yuuka’s legs, and in this scene we could see that they look a little thin and a little strange, so users on social networks did not take long to express themselves when they noticed this.
One person commented “Surprised by the sudden appearance of Yuuka and Noah, but calmly analyze them. Yuuka… did you nerf your thighs?”, among other comments we found some like “Is the person on the right an original anime character? But she looks about 50% like Yuuka.” “This Yuka is fake!” “I need to find the real Yuka soon! She doesn’t seem to be getting enough nutrition.” “The production team doesn’t have enough weight in the steps.”
As we can see, this detail may seem like a minor thing, but for fans of this franchise it was definitely something very noticeable and upsetting. Blue Archive is a role-playing game developed by Nexon Games. It was released in February 2021 for both Android and iOS by Shanghai Yostar in China and Japan, later in November of the same year, it was released worldwide by Nexon Games. Blue Archive’s characters in combat have a 3D chibi design. An anime adaptation produced by Yostar Pictures and CANDYBOX was released on April 7, 2024, it is directed by Daigo Yamagishi, who also participated in writing the script along with Hiroshi Ōnogi. In Japan, it has been broadcast on television networks such as TV Tokyo and BS11.
The story of Blue Archive is set in the academic city of Kivotos, which was established by uniting thousands of academies. The entire city is divided into districts that are almost all independent. The General Student Council is this group that governs the city from the Sanctum Tower, they have access to the records that all students keep. Before the story begins in the game, it happens that the president summons a character known as Sensei, to advise Schale, an organization that the president herself establishes, to later disappear, with which crime and militia make an appearance again in the city.
The character of “Sensei”, is actually the one assumed by the person playing the game, so his role will be to solve the problems related to Kivotos, as well as to search for the president who has disappeared. Being a role-playing game, Blue Archive allows players to form and mobilize up to 6 members. There are different ways to increase the strengths of the students in the game; for example, leveling up, the number of weapons, armor and skills. Another useful function is to recruit more students, which is done through the gacha system, i.e. in-game purchases made with in-world currency.
