Berserk

Berserk fanmade is cancelled permanently

One of the greatest manga and anime franchises is Berserk, a work by Kentaro Miura created in the early twentieth century and that thanks to its old and new audience has not ceased to lose validity and continues to be a manga in broadcast together with multiple adaptations in the anime. But it was a sector of the Berserk fandom who decided to bet and invest all their efforts to create a work in honor of their favorite series, unfortunately through a statement via X/Twitter, the group called Studio Taka announced that the fanmade of the saga was officially canceled.

Studio Taka cancels one of Berserk’s most ambitious projects

Berserk

A group of anonymous fans immediately became the heroes of the otaku community by announcing that they would be making a fanmade fanmade of one of the franchises and seinen anime that have marked many generations. The project by fans and for fans of “Berserk” would symbolize a tribute to its official creator from the mid-eighties, Kentaro Miura, and something that the fans truly deserved, being that the founding of “Studio Taka” was given with the sole purpose of creating the content that they and the community deserved.

Studio Taka, who have now definitively cancelled the Berserk fan-made, were making chapters that followed the anime and the manga with almost no deviations, with an adaptation that was almost perfect, even better than those of the anime seasons and movies in general. But legal problems were not long in coming and other studios like Eclypse demanded that the project be canceled under the argument that adaptations and anime of this style do not have legal authorizations to be carried out, Studio Taka had no choice but to cancel his work and take other radical measures for its protection.

Through this nostalgic and not at all hopeful statement, the main exponents, representatives and developers of the “Berserk” fanmade mentioned that Gaga Studios, owners of the rights of Berserk began to take sides in all projects without prior authorization. Studio Taka’s fanmade did not have any authorization from Studio Gaga and continuing with the project could lead to even more serious legal problems.

Berserk Fan Made

Studio Taka’s press release also informs that they explored many possible alternatives to continue this fanmade, but after consideration, they decided to cancel it definitively due to the potential legal risks involved in the continuity of Berserk so they prefer to respect the intellectual property of Gaga Studios and Hakusensha. They also thank all those fans who supported their project mentioning that this fanmade symbolized something big for their lives, but that the positive comments meant the world to them.

Finally, they mention that the goal of the Berserk fanmade was to honor the memory of the great Kentaro Miura, his huge legacy and his enormous work, as well as to attract new fans to this franchise and motivate them to read the manga through their videos. However, the fanmades, regardless of the noble intentions in the background, have no legal consideration, they say goodbye definitively in their statement, reiterating their gratitude towards those who supported them during that stage that lasted many years.

This cancellation due to legal issues with Gaga Studios, provoked only anger, anger and frustration not only in those who followed the fanmade and fans of Berserk, but in the otaku community in general, the reactions on X/Twitter were the following: “Something very sad, I hope the official studios will offer us something attached someday” ‘Now they are going for fanarts, they are crazy’ ‘Will we ever see a good Berserk animation’ ‘A shame what happened, but it happened what had to happen’ ”This series was amazing, Rest in peace”

Among the radical measures Studio Taka took after making his post via X/Twitter, was to close the social networks that included his X and Instagram account, the YouTube channel is still available along with some chapters that you can visit from this link.
