Last year’s GOTY, Baldur’s Gate 3 knew how to stand out from the large number of good quality video games that saw the light of day during 2023. This epic RPG set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons has been full of praise for its mechanics that seek to bring out the best in us, its great content, but above all the freedom given to us in the game.
A few months ago the digital version was released for the latest generation of Xbox consoles with an announcement of an upcoming physical edition, an edition that has been announced today and that achieves the achievement of being the first Xbox X Series game to have 4 physical discs in its edition.
The physical edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 will finally have 4 discs because of 500 Mb
Last year, Baldur’s Gate 3 got a lot of achievements that made it worthy of the GOTY and it seems that this year is looking for even more achievements, the title of Larian Studios became one of the most iconic games in the world of RPGs. But despite being such an important game we had to wait several months to get our hands on a physical edition of this great title, our wish was fulfilled and incidentally also, Baldur’s Gate 3 got his first achievement this year to be the first Xbox Series X game to have four physical discs.
In November the studio in charge of Baldur’s Gate 3 announced that the physical edition for Xbox Series would have 3 discs and for PC 2, but the studio discovered that 3 discs were not enough for the Xbox Series X version for only 500 MB, so the studio preferred to use an extra disc than to leave us without those 500 MB of content. The message came from the publishing director, who shared the following in an X post:
On the one hand, there are those who support the decision stating that it is a good decision to bring the game without any cuts or omitting absolutely nothing from the original title. On the other hand, there are also those who criticize the decision stating that 500 MB for a single disc is a wrong decision in all aspects and that this will affect the arrival date of these editions.
The latter was confirmed to us by Michael Douse himself who, responding to the above post, stated that the physical edition changes from March 25 to the first week of April. He also mentions that copies will be shipped as they are ready starting with PC users who, in addition to the 2 physical discs, will also find their own installer and a Steam code. The X Series version will be left for the last, since, according to Michael Douse, the more disks, the more complex it will be.
So far we do not know an exact date of arrival for this physical edition of Baldur’s Gate 3, only that they will begin to be released from the first week of April, while we wait we can go testing it on multiple platforms (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S and PC) in which this title is available that gave, continues and will continue to talk about for much longer.
