Azur Lane is one of the video games within the gacha genre that has stood out the most in recent years, especially because of the large number of “waifus” present in its staff, especially because they have a high level of “craving” that increases with each new update. But now it seems that its reign in terms of this type of characters will be affected, since a few months ago Echocalypse: The Scarlet Covenant was released, a title that seeks to position itself in the market and has opted for the same system as Azur Lane: cute “waifus” full of “rikura”.
Echocalypse: The Scarlet Covenant, the gacha game that comes to compete with Azur Lane and its waifs
Last June, Echocalypse: The Scarlet Covenant, a video game that sought to position itself within the extensive market of available gacha titles, was launched on the market, and it surprised from the beginning for having a large number of “waifus” present in its staff. And it quickly began to be compared to another of the most popular games, Azur Lane, which also bases a large part of its popularity on having pretty girls.
There were several aspects that have drawn attention, but especially one of its latest events, where the level of “whimsy” of the girls in Echocalypse: The Scarlet Covenant reached a more than surprising point, being that the “waifus” that were presented were very reminiscent of what was seen in Azur Lane at the time. As part of the event called “Our Honey moon” centered on marriage, they were dressed in wedding outfits, but in many cases these were more revealing than usual, which combined with the voluptuous bodies of many of them left more than one speechless.
And although in the publication that contains these “waifus” fans only participated in the event, in other images or social networks you can see several people talking about the resemblance between the two games, especially in the available characters and how they have similarities. Similarly, most do not speak of plagiarism as such, since, although the “waifus” resemble those of Echocalypse: The Scarlet Covenant and Azur Lane, we must take into account that the latter has been on the market for more than 6 years, so in that time it has delivered a variety of girls and the similarities can happen.
For those who do not know what Echocalypse: The Scarlet Covenant is about, this is a gacha RPG style videogame where the player takes the role of “Awakener”, who is the last hope of humanity, and whose main mission is to rescue his sister who is trapped. For this he will have a large number of “waifus” with different skills that will help him during this adventure full of action and strategy, where the correct use of each of the characters is vital to obtain victory.
