In an exclusive interview for MANTANWEB, both seiyuus shared fascinating details about the dubbing process of the series and one of the most surprising revelations was the meticulous research Hina Yomiya did to find the most authentic kissing sounds.
The young actress and seiyuu of Anna Yamada, confessed to have spent hours surfing the internet in search of references and tutorials, which generated more than a laugh among her partner Sora Amamiya. In the interview, Hina pointed out how her research to make kissing sounds more realistic in a foreign production, and not sound so forced and natural, led her to research on the internet about the sounds, turning her search history into a mess.
Aqua’s seiyuu, on the other hand, stressed the importance of finding the balance between sweetness and maturity in Sam’s interpretation, when dubbing a real character, it is essential to avoid falling into anime clichés and build a voice that reflects the character’s personality and age. Both seiyuus agreed that dubbing GAP The Series presented them with unique challenges, as they had to capture the intimacy and complexity of a loving relationship between two women, in addition to finding the best voice for the character.
