AnimeFLV and Cuevana could close due to legal issues

Within the world of anime, movies and series there are two major websites where users consume this content pirated: AnimeFLV and Cuevana, two sites that over the years have gone through a lot of controversy due to the way they deliver this content. And now things are getting complicated again, as it was announced that the Motion Picture Association (MPA), one of the most important entities in the fight against piracy, has them in its sights, which could mean more problems for the sites, including their closure as one of the possible outcomes.

In recent hours, one of the most important entities in the fight against piracy, the Motion Picture Association (MPA), presented a new report sent to the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) which mentions several of the pirate sites that continue to operate worldwide. But what surprised many is the appearance of two of the best known sites in Latin America: AnimeFLV and Cuevana, both of which are in the spotlight and could have serious legal problems.

In the report, they talk in more detail about both sites, being that from the MPA they know a lot of information, such as since what year they operate, how much content they are present in AnimeFLV as well as in Cuevana and even the count of views they have had in the last time. But the most important thing is that they know where the sites are hosted, naming as one of the most interesting, the page focused on anime, uses services that hide the location of their servers, although they believe that these are in Peru, Chile and Mexico.

On the other hand, in the report presented by the Motion Picture Association (MPA), these two pages are marked as “priority sites”, showing that they would really be the first ones to be imposed the relevant sanctions once legal actions begin, which could become very serious.

Now we will have to wait for some time to find out what will happen and how the entities in charge of combating piracy will act in these sites so well known in this part of the world, since the consequences can be very varied and with many outcomes. One of the strongest that both Cuevana and AnimeFLV may face would be the definitive closure of the sites, being that the effort made by the authorities could lead to this, although it is not known if it would be in the short or long term.
