Through its social networks, Toonami presented a preview of the next episode that will premiere this Saturday of the animated series “My Adventures with Superman“, and the video gave much to talk about, not only in the superhero community, but also in the anime community. And is that a character, more precisely Kara, makes her appearance, surprising by its appearance, which is very reminiscent of one of the most emblematic “waifus” that has the iconic Dragon Ball franchise, we refer to the Android number 18.
Kara, for those who are not familiar with the world of superheroes, is better known as Supergirl, one of the most important heroes of the DC world, and as you can see in the video published by Toonami, many of its features are similar to the Android number 18, this can be seen first with her hair: short and blonde. This could pass as a simple resemblance, but it was the clothes that ended up surprising the fans, as we see the same white t-shirt with black vest, long blue jeans and even the belt that are very similar.
Upon noticing these, it was the same fans who in the publications of the preview left their impressions of so many similarities between the two characters, from those who were very excited about this sort of “tribute” to such a beloved character as Android number 18, to those who remarked how this series is full of anime references. On the other hand, there were also those who did not like this decision at all, taking it as a move by the creators to use the clothing of a character as iconic as Android number 18, so the messages were divided by the fans.
