+The respective official media for the anime adaptation of Gege Akutami’s successful manga, Jujutsu Kaisen, released to the public a news that surprised all fans and it was reported that the series will have a compilation movie that will be released in Japan during the year 2025.
This incredible news was announced at the event “Juju Fest 2024” and it was specified that this compilation movie of the anime Jujutsu Kaisen will cover the arcs “Hidden Inventory / Premature Death” of the second season of the series. Additionally, a promotional image for this film project has been presented and new information will be released soon.
A new version of Jujutsu Kaisen to hit theaters in Japan
Jujutsu Kaisen is a shonen manga that combines action and fantasy and is written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. The literary work began its serialization in Shueisha Publishing House’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018 and to date, a total of 27 collected volumes have been released, in addition to a prequel volume. It should be noted that a while back, it was announced that the work managed to reach the impressive figure of over 90 million copies in circulation.
On October 2, 2020, the manga Jujutsu Kaisen would release an anime adaptation that consisted of 2 seasons (47 episodes in total) and a movie titled “Jujutsu Kaisen 0”. The anime was produced by the animation studio MAPPA under the direction of Sunghoo Park. The series is legally available on the Crunchyroll platform and has a English dub of the anime.
Jujutsu Kaisen has the following description: Yuuji Itadori, a high school student, engages in paranormal activities with the Occult Club and spends his days at the club or at the hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this quiet lifestyle soon takes a turn for the bizarre when he unknowingly finds a cursed object.
Triggering a chain of supernatural events, Yuuji suddenly finds himself immersed in the world of curses (terrible beings formed from human evil and negativity) after swallowing said object, which turns out to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the King of Curses.
Yuuji experiences firsthand the threat these Curses pose to society as he discovers his own newfound powers. Introduced to the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, he begins to walk a path from which he cannot return: the path of a Jujutsu sorcerer.
