With the release of the first volume of the light novel Classroom of the Elite: Year 3 (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: 3-nensei-hen), the respective official media of the Classroom of the Elite franchise have shared to the public a promotional video for the volume that begins a new year at Koudo Ikusei High School.
Honami Ichinose’s Yandere side comes to light in promotional video for Classroom of the Elite: Year 3
However, this new promotional video has a certain peculiarity and is not only focused on Honami Ichinose and features the narration of voice actress Nao Touyama (seiyuu of the character in the anime adaptation), but we will also see a different version of Honami, which many fans of the franchise have labeled as a “Yandere Face”.
The promotional video has a duration of approximately 30 seconds and presents some sequences where Honami Ichinose is seen with a new darker attitude.
The first volume of the light novel Classroom of the Elite: Year 3 (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: 3-nensei-hen) was released in stores and bookstores in Japan on March 24 of this year. This volume consisted of a total of 300 pages.
Information about Classroom of the Elite:
The light novel Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e, also known as Classroom of the Elite in the West, is a drama written by Shougo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose. It began publication under the MF Bunko J imprint of Media Factory publishing house in May 2015.
It should be noted that the work features a new arc titled “Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: 2-nensei-hen” (Classroom of the Elite: Year 2), which kicked off its plot from volume #15 of the light novel and ended in November 2024. Currently, “Year 3” is in publication, which will mark the final year of Kiyotaka Ayanokouji and his classmates at Koudo Ikusei High School.
The work has a manga adaptation by Yuyu Ichino and began to be published in the Monthly Comic Alive magazine of the Media Factory publishing house in January 2016.
Classroom of the Elite: Year 2 also has its respective manga adaptation and Shia Sasane is in charge of the illustrations. This adaptation began its publication in Monthly Comic Alive magazine in December 2021.
Classroom of the Elite has the following description:
The story introduces us to the prestigious Koudo Ikusei Senior High School, an institution where students enjoy unparalleled freedom and boasts a privileged position in Japan. However, the reality is far from idealized, as only the elite classes, ranked from A to D according to their performance, receive preferential treatment.
Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, a Class D student, whose placement is reserved for those with less outstanding grades, is the protagonist of this story. In this setting, she crosses paths with Suzune Horikita, a reserved classmate who believes her assignment to Class D was a mistake and aspires to move up to Class A, and Kikyou Kushida, a popular and friendly classmate who appears to be friendly, but has her own goals.
Although class membership is permanent, classifications are not. Students in lower classes can move up if they manage to outperform in grades those in higher classes. Moreover, in Class D, there are no limitations on the methods that can be employed to excel. In this unforgiving school environment, will students succeed in excelling and rising to the top?
