9-Nine excites fans with announcement of anime adaptation
The official 9-Nine Twitter/X account @info_9_nine_, made a publication today where they confirmed that the visual novel will have an anime, as previously speculated by fans. They did not give more details about this, such as the animation studio, release date or any information that would help us to know more about this project, so we will have to be more attentive to future updates that they could give us. What they did inform us about was a symphonic concert that will be held to celebrate the news of the anime adaptation. Both announcements were made through a short video.
This concert will be called “9-nine-Symphonic Concert 2 with Animation” and will be held on September 9, 2024. Of course, 9-Nine fans immediately took to the comments to express their opinions on this information that the franchise has just released. People said things like “I’m glad it’s an anime” “I’ve been waiting. Personally, I thought there would be no more TV anime adaptations when 9-nine came out, which was aimed at all ages.”
Several users congratulated the franchise for this achievement and commented that they could not wait to be able to watch the series, as well as to know the important information that every anime fan wants to know about the series they are excitedly waiting for, such as the cast that will voice our favorite characters. 9-Nine is a Japanese visual novel that was developed and published by Palette. In April 2017, it was released for Windows, having four episodes that concluded in April 2020. Subsequently, in June 2022, it was released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. From February 2019 to March 2021, an English version of this visual novel was released by Sekai Project and after that, a special episode was released in April 2021. 9-Nine also has a manga adaptation, which features art by Izumi Kawachi and was published online on the Gaugau Monster site from October 2021.
All episodes of 9-Nine share the same world and setting, however, each focuses on a different heroine. Here’s how Sekai Project describes these episodes: 9-Nine is a tale about the town of Siromitsugawa, host to mysterious artifacts and superpowers that are bestowed upon the users of said artifacts. A tale of growing trust and a budding romance between the protagonist and his heroine, it is also a mystery where someone’s life is taken and they hunt down the culprit behind a series of supernatural crimes.
